"Oh of course! Of course you'd blame this on me because everything's my fault isn't it?!" Sofìa, Elena's mother, yelled at her husband.

Theo glared at her, "Mantén tu voz abajo! Elena might hear us."

This was why Elena loved her father, he was always looking out for her even when he was furious.

"Besides, this is your fault! You're the one who spilled water all over the floor!" Theo argued back quietly.

Elena sighed as she walked down the stairs, she'd gotten bored of listening to her parent's fight once again.

"Oh, cariño hi!" Sofìa greeted her daughter awkwardly.

Were they not expecting me to come down when I heard yelling, Elena thought sarcastically.

Elena sat on the sat on the last step as she tied up her shoes before she looked at her father.

Theo's eyes widened as he rushed towards his daughter, "Lena! Your mother and I were just talking about-"

She cut him off with a bored look, "I don't really care anymore dad, I'm going to go for a walk. Now you and mom can fight all you want."

Theo and Sofìa watched sadly as their daughter stoically walked out the front door. Theo immediately moved to go after her but Sofìa grabbed his arm and pulled him back.

"Give her some space right now." Sofìa sighed sadly.

Theo pulled his arm back angrily, "See what you did!"

Elena rolled her eyes as she heard yelling almost immediately after she left, "Normal people knit for fun, but apparently fighting is more appealing to them."

Elena found herself outside of Frozen Factory. Her father would always bring her to this ice cream parlor, especially if she was upset about something.

She walked in with a small smile but soon enough she bumped into someone.

"Oh, I'm really sorry." She apologized absentmindedly.

"That's quite alright Ms. Martinez."

Elena's eyes widened when she heard a familiar voice, "Mr. Feeny?"

Theo waited a total of 15 minutes before bolting out the door after his daughter.

He pushed open the door to Frozen Factory and scanned the room, smiling when he found Elena.

"Well, looks like I know my little girl."

Elena was sat at a booth eating ice cream with Mr. Feeny.

Theo slowly crept up behind her and motioned for Mr. Feeny to keep quiet but he froze just as he was about to scare her.

"Eh, I lost count of how many fights they've had but I got used to after the first 3 big fights." Elena shrugged.

Theo frowned, he and Sofìa had been fighting so much that their daughter didn't even bat an eyelash anymore. They'd been so angry that they forgot Elena could still hear them through the walls of her room.

"Mi vida, I am so sorry."

"Papi?" Elena turned around in shock.

Elena's bottom lip trembled as she saw her father and she was more than thankful when he wrapped his arms around her.

"I'm so so sorry," He whispered as he kissed her forehead.

"Mr. Feeny thought it would help if I talked about it out loud, I didn't want to but he was right. I do feel better." Elena explained to her father while Mr. Feeny was getting them water.

Mr. Feeny placed the water bottles on the table and smiled at Elena.

"I'm always here if you need to talk Ms. Martinez, about anything. I do hope you'll take me up on the offer."

Elena threw herself forward and wrapped her arms around Mr. Feeny in a tight hug, "Thanks, Mr. Feeny."

His eyes widened in shock before he patted her shoulder with a small smile.

Theo stood up and shook the older man's hand, "Thanks George, it really means a lot."

Theo and Elena sat facing each other in the booth once Mr. Feeny left.

"So, you gonna tell me why you and mom are fighting so much?" Elena asked casually as she took a sip of her water.

Theo's eyes widened as he looked at his daughter in awe, "Have you always been this mature."

Elena shrugged, "It comes and goes."

The two laughed, "Well, mature or not you will always be my little girl."

"I know Papi," Elena smiled, "Now back to you and mom."

Theo took a deep breath, "I don't know."

"What?"

"I don't know why your mother and I are always fighting." He explained.

"But you two still love each other right."

Theo's eyes widened, "Of course we do mijah!"

Theo sighed as he looked around the ice cream parlor before looking back at Elena.

"Lena, do you ever fight with Shawn or Cory."

Elena scoffed with a laugh, "All the time."

"And do you love them any less after these fights?"

"Of course not Papi!"

Theo smiled, "Well, it's the same for your mother and I. Elena, a strong relationship doesn't mean that you never fight but that you love someone even in moments when you don't like them. I'm not going to tell you it's normal to fight all the time or as much as your mother and I are just to make it seem okay because it's not and I don't want you to think that."

"But mijha, sometimes you will fight with the people you love most maybe because your stressed or your annoyed with them and you have to know that love isn't when you never fight but that you're both willing to make changes and compromise after a fight."

"So sometimes you and mom just need a break? To calm down." Elena concluded.

Theo smiled, "Yeah, something like that. Now come give your old man a hug you smart cookie."
