"Riley told me what happened"

Maya sighed and bit her lip nervously as she looked up at Elena who was stood in front of her with a knowing look.

Maya had stayed back at the train station, sitting at her favorite bench and thinking about everything that had happened over the past couple of days.

"Look, it's not that bad-" Maya began, trying to defend herself but she was cut off by Elena sitting beside her and pulling her in for a hug.

Her eyes widened before she sighed heavily as she nuzzled into Elena's chest and threw her arms tightly around the older women.

Elena gave Maya a tight squeeze and held her until she saw her stop shaking.

Smiling down at her she lifted her chin up to meet her gaze, "You have no idea how proud I am of you."

"W-what?" Maya stuttered in confusion.

Elena stroked her cheek lovingly, "You didn't have to give the locket back, you did that because you knew it was the right thing and because you wanted to do the right thing. What's not to be proud of, bug?"

Maya smiled slightly at the nickname Elena had always called her by before shaking her head with a frown, "But that doesn't change the fact that I took it."

Elena held Maya's face in her hands and looked her in the eye, "Mijah, everyone makes mistakes-"

Maya cut her off, "You don't, you're like totally perfect."

Elena laughed, "As much as I'm flattered you think of me like that I'm going to have to burst your bubble. I did a lot worse when I was your age, I mean ended up in mall jail when I was 12. You can imagine what else I did."

Maya's eyes widened as she looked at Elena in awe, "No way! I think you just got 100 times cooler. You have to tell me everything"

Elena laughed as she bumped Maya's shoulder softly, "Dios mío, that'll take some time bug, how about we go over to Riley's and I can tell you both all about it and maybe embarrass Cory while we're at it."

Maya laughed, "I wouldn't be me if I passed up a chance to laugh at Matthews."

Maya grabbed Elena's hand as she stood up and the two began to walk out of the train station but Elena quickly stopped and looked down at Maya thoughtfully.

"Hang on a minute," She smiled softly at the blonde and pulled her back towards the bench, "Turn around."

Maya gave her back to the woman with a confused look on her face which only deepened when she felt a cool piece of metal settle on her neck.
