Elijah watches with a sigh as he stares at his younger brother who stood on the balcony staring down at people. For once Elijah could tell he wasn't looking at them like a meal, he was staring as if he was jealous. Which was true, Kol was jealous. These people got to go through life doing what they love and being with who they love. His family weren't people he loved, to Kol they were a problem. A problem he would never shake. They put him in a box for years leaving him to a black darkness of misery. Finally, he found a light. Something that made his life meaningful someone that brought love into his life. But of course, they took that away. They took away the one thing he has never truly cared for. As long as his family is around Kol could never be with you.

"You know, I'm very sorry brother, that things are this way." says Elijah joining Kol's side

Kol just continues to stare down at the people not being able to stand the sight of his so-called noble brother.

"I wish you could be with that girl, I can see you truly love her." says Elijah staring at the side of his brother's face

"Elijah just shut up and go away. I was forced here to protect the kid not mend our relationship. I'm doing what I'm supposed to so there is reason for you to talk to me." says Kol not bothering to look at his brother

    Elijah sighs before he heads out of the room knowing his brother was in no mood to converse with him. Kol continues to sip his drink as thoughts about you swirl in his head.

   How is she doing? Has she moved on? Is she happy? How is college going? Does she still smell like vanilla? Thinks Kol who hasn't seen you for months now

   Kol makes his way downstairs heading to the kitchen ignoring the Christmas decorations that are up. Kol heads into the kitchen just wanting to get some alcohol when Elijah steps in front of him. Kol internally groans before his eyes narrow in on his brown haired brother.

He was not in the mood for any conversation with any of his siblings.

"Brother, will you be joining for our Christmas Eve dinner tonight?" asks Elijah

Kol scoffs at the question.

"Of course not." Kol says passing by his brother heading to the cabinet

"Why not? Hope wants you to attend and as do the rest of us." says Elijah hopeful his brother will attend the dinner with them, desperate to have the family act as one again

"I don't care, Elijah. I'm not attending unless of course, you decide to threaten Y/N again." says Kol giving his brother a cold look before he grabs the vodka he was looking for

Kol starts to leave the kitchen until Elijah once again starts talking.

"Brother....if you attend, I'll try to see if I can Niklaus to let you go back to California for a few days so you can check on the girl." says Elijah causing Kol to turn back to him

Kol thinks this over. A crappy family dinner so he can check up on the girl she loves for a day or two.

"I'll attend." Kol decides making Elijah smile

"But just so we're clear, I'm not going so I can help you reunite this family." says Kol before he exits the kitchen heading up stairs

A ghost of a smile making it's way onto his face.

You, on the hand, sit on your bed at college. Your head in your hands.

Something's wrong with me. I think I'm going insane. You think semi freaking out

Kol heads downstairs that night to find everyone already seated.

"You're late brother." says Niklaus causing Kol to roll his eyes but other than that chooses to ignore him
