    Stefan Salvatore smiles as he watches you help Elena, Caroline, and Bonnie put ornaments on the Christmas tree. You were laughing at something Bonnie said which made Stefan smile because of how cute you look. Your y/e/c colored eyes are filled with a bright light something Stefan has actually liked about you. But today they seem even more bright. Stefan and you are friends but he has recently been wishing for more.

"Brother just tell her your feelings." says Damon appearing by Stefan's side

"Damon, I don't need your advice." says Stefan not even glancing his brother's way

"I think you do, I'm the one here with a girlfriend." says Damon

"A girlfriend that was in love with me first." snaps Stefan annoyed

Damon had been teasing him all week about him being too worried to ask you out.

"Ouch brother I'm hurt." says Damon jokingly as he places a hand over his heart

"Seriously man, it's getting almost disgusting how much you stare at her with your broody eyes. Just ask her out, Elena thinks she likes you." adds Damon as Stefan watches you struggle to hang an ornament on a high part of the tree

"I will ask her out when I'm sure she likes me back. I'm not ruining my friendship with Y/N." says Stefan as you stand on your tippy toes trying to reach the place

Stefan laughs shaking his head finding you adorable in this moment before he heads over to you.

"Need some help?" chuckles Stefan as he stands behind you

"It's not funny." You say pouting.

A little annoyed you can't reach the spot on the tree.

"You're right, it's not......it's hilarious." laughs Stefan

You roll your eyes at him.

"You're an annoying." You groan

"Come on, Y/N, let me help you put the ornament up." says Stefan with a smile

"Okay, fine, but no more laughing at my height." You say giving him a pointed look before you turn around

"Okay-" You start out until you let out a gasp as Stefan's hands grip your waist before he lifts you up

"Stefan, what are you doing?" You ask slightly confused as you blush at the face Caroline's making at you

"I'm helping you put the ornament on the tree.....is this okay?" says Stefan while you mouth silently to Caroling to stop wiggling her eyebrows at the two of you

"Yeah....um, yeah, totally fine." You say as put the ornament on the tree

"Okay, does that look okay?" You ask as you look at the ornament

"Yeah, looks perfect." says Stefan, who is trying really hard to not stare at your butt

You nod agreeing with him. Stefan then sets you down. You turn to face him and you instantly realize how close you two are. Your noses are only a centimeter apart. You both just stare into each other's eyes for a few second until a loud crash interrupts your movement. You two instantly pull apart, a pink tint appears on your cheeks.

"Sorry." says Jeremy sheepishly referring to the dozen of broken ornaments on the ground

"I should go help him." You say before you swiftly head over to Jeremy happy to get away from the now awkward situation

"Yeah." whispers Stefan before heads to the kitchen to grab some bourbon

"So is he gonna ask her?" whispers Elena to Damon
