Wasted

Maine drive aimlessly.  She hits the maximum speed of her motorbike, oblivious of the threat it will give her on one false move.  Her eyes is still misted and puffy from crying.  Good thing that she was not caught for driving without her helmet.  She is still roaming around when she heard her phone rang. She stopped by the road side and checked her phone.

Maine : Hello!

Paolo : Bes, where are you?

Maine : Somewhere.

Paolo : O siya, mag-ingat ka... Kita tayo pag medyo okay ka na ha?

At the background,
Richard : Paolo, si Nerd ba yan?

Maine : F--k, bakit andiyan pa yan???

Paolo : Oo, Richard.  Ewan ko, bes!

Richard : Tell her to go back here, marami pang trabaho sa office!

Maine : Shut it! Sabihin mo sa siraulong yan, gamitin ang utak niya para magtrabaho hindi ang iasa ang pang gastos niya sa iba!

Paolo : wooh!!! Hoy, hindi ako interpreter niyong dalawa! Ayan naka-speaker phone na, magmurahan na kayo!

Richard : Hoy, nerd! Bumalik ka dito! Madami ka pang dapat gawin dito!

Maine : Scram, scumbag! Hindi ako magtatrabaho para lang sa bisyo mo! Back off you, oaf!

Richard : Huh? As if you are the backbone of the company! Ha? Forget it, you are just a wall flower anyways!

Maine : That's right! Tell them I am off that company! May you succeed on running that one! Goodluck, scumbag!

And Maine turn off the call, but before that they could hear the speeding of her motorbike at full speed!!

Paolo : Shit ka! Wala kang alam tungkol sa kanya and yet you insulted her as if you know her! As if kilala mo siya!

Richard : Siya ang nauna! Mas mahalaga pa sa kanya ang sarili niyang pain kesa sa pagharap niya sa mga responsibilidad niya?

Paolo : Wow! Look who's talking?? Ikaw ba, naharap no na rin ba ang responsibilidad mo? Darn it, grow up! Naiwan ka na pero feeling mo mahalaga ka pa! Gumagana ang company ninyo dahil sa kanya, hindi dahil sa iyo! Nag-eexist pa ang company ninyo dahil sa hirap niya at hindi dahil sa iyo! May pangkain at pangbisyo ka dahil sa nerd na yun!!!

Natigilan si Richard sa mga narinig sa kaibigan.  Parang binuhusan ng malamig na tubig. That was a big slap on his face! He can't do anything but turn his back on Paolo and ran off.  Tumakbo siya pagkalabas ng hospital na para bang hinahabol ng kung sino, ngunit bago pa siya tuluyang makalabas ng hospital, nasalubong niya ang mga madre na may hawak ng bahay-ampunan na tinutulungan ng nerd.

"Iho, anong nangyari at tumatakbo ka?" Sabi ni Mother Superior

"Ahhh, good morning po.. Kailangan ko na po kasing pumasok sa opisina e!" Richard said, stammering.

"Ganun ba? Kung gayon, patnubayan ka sana ng Mahal na Poon sa iyong paglalakbay at maraming salamat sa pagtulong at pagpapasaya mo kay Sammy kahit sa huling pagkakataon...!" Mother Superior told him.

"A, e, wala pong anuman iyon! Sige po, aalis na po ako!" Richard said.

"Okay, at mag-ingat ka! Oo nga pala, maraming salamat sa pagpapaunlak mo sa habilin ni Sammy.  Alam ko na nararamdaman niya na magiging safe sa iyo ang Ate Maine niya... O, siya sige iho, pagpalain ka nawa ng ating Poong Maykapal!" At inabot ang kanyang kamay para makapagmano ang binata.  Tulalang inabot ni Richard ang kamay ng madre at nagmano. 

Pagkalampas ng mga madre, biglang nanlambot ang tuhod ni Richard.  Pakiramdam niya para siyang sinapak  ng matindi.  Pakiramdam niya nasasakal siya. 

Meanwhile, Maine was so angry that she wanted to hit somebody! With all the happening around her, the pain, the hate, it is all too much for her.  She drove without direction, she ignored her phone, she felt numb.  She just cruise along the traffic.  Lusot dito, lusot doon, kung saan-saan na lang siya nagpaikot-ikot ng makakita siya ng kaguluhan sa dinadaan niya.  Nakita niya ang mga tao na may hinahabol na lalaki! She stopped again and waited for the man to crossed in front of her before she did her side kick turn that made the man, startled and stumble.  The man stood up and took out a swiss knife.  She was able to dodge the first attack of the man and was able to hit him on the side of his head with her fist. 

"Hoy!" Nang may biglang sumigaw, making Maine surprised and before she knew it, she was cut on her arm, leaving a shallow but long cut on her arm.  She dodge again and do a startling flying kick that leaves the attacker stagger and drop on his knees.  The crowd hold the man down and asked if she is okay.  She told them she is okay and get back to her motorbike to have her wound tended at the hospital.  She decided to go back to the hospital and make herself helpful.  After an hour she arrived at the hospital and before she could enter the hospital, she was greeted by...

"Bes, anong nangyari? Bakit ang daming dugo?" Paolo screamed on top of his lungs.

"Okay lang ako, bes! Malayo sa bituka.. Mababaw, ipapalinis ko na lang mamaya! Kumusta dito? Ano na ang mga dapat gawin?" Maine asked.

"We are just waiting for Baste's body and we will be taking him na sa chapel later.  We are done with the bills na kasi kaya mailalabas na agad si Baste!" Paolo sounded businesslike but still the sadness can be detected on his voice.  Maine, on the other hand, can't help again but to cry a river.  She was hugged by Paolo for comfort and lead her to the emergency room for her wounded arms.
