Maine's POV

"OKAY??? What just happened? She was shocked to say the least at the proximity of the face of the devil.  So close she could almost breathe the same air he breathe... Good thing though she was born quick-witted and was able to jump the gun when it was needed right away.  Shake it off, Meng! Shake it off!" She is still scolding herself mentally when she heard the phone ringing.  She schooled herself to calm and tried to ignore the fast beating of her heart.  She answered the phone and conversed with called for few minutes.  After the call, the whole fiasco was set aside and she was able to compose herself well.  Uhmmm, well that was what she is projecting right now.  But honestly, she can still remember the proximity of his face and its almost perfection except for the cute dent of a scar.  Huh? Wait what, when does a scar became cute? Get a hold of yourself, Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza... He is your enemy, he looked down in you as if you are a soiled goods! Fuck that man, her hate towards him is beginning to reign again... And her face is getting flustered without her knowledge...

Richard's POV
Ahhh! Damn that girl! How can she simply turn the table to me with that simple retort.  Nakakainis! Nakakainis! Talagang humanda ka sa aking babae ka pag nakatiyempo ako sa iyo! I will make you crazy for me... And I will drop you like a hot potato once I am done with you! I will be your downfall... While he is trying to calm down, he saw her composure as if nothing big happen.  Imagine, other girls will still be drooling with that proximity of our face and yet this nerd does not even flinched! And as he remember the scene, truthfully, he was a little mesmerized by the way she stared at him.  He can see defiance and sadness at her eyes at the same time.  Her eyes can literally drown him just by staring at it.  Well, come to think of it, there was something familiar on her. Something that was tugging at him when she stare at him... There was this familiar sense of calmness on him when he stare at those eyes... Calmness that was lost when he lose that "someone". 
Wait? Faulkerson, what are you thinking right now? That "someone" was totally not the nerd outside! Why would you feel that way? Why would you compare that "someone" on this infuriating nerd?  Get a grip man, we need to take that nerd out of the picture para makaganti ka at magawa mo na ang mga plano mo!" Eyes on the price Faulkerson not on that nerd! We will played that nerd on her own game and beat her without mercy!

Good thing na dito sa conference room naka schedule ang mga meeting today and she can still review the notes before the meeting.  She is always with the senior when the meeting is being held at the office.  And regardless of who's the boss now, she is still expected to attend the meeting.  She is getting ready for meeting. 

The schedule meeting went well and Richard was surprised to see the "nerd" battling wits with their clients.  It was supposed to be a joke on his part.  He fully understand the client's need and he can see that the resolution he formulated earlier could earn them the contract, however, he decided to put the "nerd" on the spot.  He wants to see panic on her eyes and seek for his help.  Apparently, he was the one that was surprised.  The table turns back against him again.  He heard Maine's arguments and suggestions with all the pros and cons and was able to answer everything the client's asked.  She was also able to compare notes with their previous project and was given a impressed nod coming from the client.  He himself, if he is admit it, was convinced right away with all the plans and strategy laid in front of them.  She really is something...
"Mr. Faulkerson, good thing that you have the most efficient marketing strategist here at your hand.  You have a very good Marketing Manager.  Now I understand why your company is best among the rest... Iha, if you would consider I could offer you more than what RFJ Companies is giving you...!" Mr. Chan said.
"Woah! Hold that thought right there, Mr. Chan! You will not pirate our employee right under our nose right?" Richard said.
"No, just kidding, iho! But in case, the offer still stand though, Maine...!" And he smirked.
Medyo na off ang mood ni Richard so Maine decided to butt in...
"That was so generous of you, Sir.  The offer maybe good but I am declining it right away.  I will stay on this company until it is Mr. Faulkerson Senior wants me out! Thank you though...!" Maine said.
And with that said, they proceeded on the contract and both parties agreed.  The deal is on.  Thanks to Maine...

When the meeting was done, the other schedule was cancelled because of some emergency thing.  And since today was productive, they agreed for the rescheduling. 

The meeting was done and as the secretary, Maine graciously escorted their guest out.  Richard, on the other hand, was left and still trying to get a hang on what had happened...
"Ummm, that girl is really something huh? So who am I going against to? Hmmm..." Richard said inwardly...
