The Reluctant Goddess

Richard snapped his head towards the door and was surprised to see Nicomaine! Her Nicomaine...

She stands out! He was mesmerized as he stood up and subconsciously walked over to the newly arrived pair. He can't take his off her, sa takot na imahinasyin lang ang dalaga! Napakaganda nito ng walang make-up o kahit nakaunuporme pa ito! Akala niya nakita na niya ang tunay nitong ganda! Pero shit, mas maganda, napakaganda pag naayusan! She really is an angel goddess! He went to her side and saw the surprised look on Maine but she still got his arms he offered to escort her towards our table. He urged her to smile, and as if the heaven opened for him, his heart sang as he saw how beautiful the smile that crept on her face! The smile that cause havoc in my heart! As he turned his gaze to see everyone, he saw that they were all looking at her! They were all surprised. Some cannot believe the name they've heard upon welcoming the pair earlier!

"Huh!! In your face! Nobody should look down on my fiancée anymore! No one can compare to her, from her looks and most especially her heart!"
Richard said, smirking. They walled towards their assigned table, together with Paolo at their back. While walking towards their assigned table, they've beards several whispers coming from their colleagues...

"Siya ba talaga yan?"
"Ayyy, ang ganda pala niya ohhhh!"
"She has the most angelic face I have seen..!"
"Ang bilis naman nakapagplastic surgery niyan!"
"Malamang ang laki ng ibinayad niyan para gumanda!"

Napataas ang kilay ng dalawa sa hurling mga narinig, nagkatinginan, sabay nagtawanan! As in ngisngisan!! Naging si Paolo ay nagulat...

"Wait, nag-uusap ba sila? Parang hindi naman! E bakit sabay silang tumawag??? Anong mahika ito??" Paolo was surprised.

Richard and Maine can't help it but they were still laughing until they came in to their assigned table. Upon reaching their table and saw the comical looks on their families faces, they stare at each other and laughed some more!

Richard, though did not forgot to sit her on the chair beside him. Nagpaunlak naman si Maine kaya naupo ito, bago bumati sa lahat!

"Good evening everyone! Sorry to be late! I took care of something important!" Maine started.
"Hello, I'm Maine, RFJ President's executive secretary!" She said towards Ryzza and offered her hand for a shake.
Ryzza though still surprised was able to recover herself right away and took her hand.
"Ryzza here, we haven't personally introduced before although I have known your name for a while now! Thank you for helping my father and now my brother! Nice to meet you!" Ryzza said.
"And here is Paolo, my best friend, everyone!" Maine said, introducing Paolo to everyone., especially for those who do not know him.
"Hello, nice to meet you!" Paolo said with his best manly voice he could muster.
Nagkatinginan na naman ang dalawa at tumawa na naman!
"Hoy, mga bakla! Bakit ba tawa kayo ng tawa?? Oo na, hindi na ako papasang papa! Pero naman o, respeto naman! Nagpo-project akong lalaki dito oh!!" Sabi ni Paolo na tumili na, yung sapat lang, yung tipong pang-table lang nila!
Nagkatawanan ang lahat ng nasa table pagkatapos marinig ang sinabi ni Paolo! And that breaks the ice!

"What happened?" Richard suddenly asked when everyone is busy talking around.
"Mission is here!" Maine said.
"What???! How??" Richard asked, medyo gulat.
"Kahit ako, Lt nagulat but upon learning the details dito talaga.  And we will not moved unless provoked.  We are just here to observe the head and the spring, no more no less... Look around, you'll see the others! Act normally.!" Maine said.
"Okay, Captain!" Richard smiled.  Somehow relieved that everyone will be safe kasi walang engkwentro. 
"Let's eat, Maine! You need that...!" Richard said.
"Thank you, Richard." Maine said, in their normal voice now since all of them know that they were already "engage". 
"By the way, iha, you really look good tonight!" Faulkerson Sr said. 
"Thank you, Sir!" Maine said.
"Anak, mabuti at nakapunta ka, akala ko may importante kang gagawin?" Her father asked.
"Its done, Tatay! Bored ako sa bahay kaya I decided to come.  Anyways, how are you po, Nanay?" Maine asked.
"I'm okay, anak! You looked so gorgeous tonight, my dear!" Nanay said in awe.
"Napaglaruan lang po ni Paolo, kaya nagmukha pong tao!" Maine said, natatawa na lang.
"One more insult coming from that lips if yours, I will punish you.  Wag mo akong insultuhin!" Richard suddenly said.
"Huh?" Maine said, looking intently on him.
"Wag mo akong insultuhin, dahil gusto ko ang babaeng nilalait mo!" Richard said with conviction.  Eyeing her intently.  He wants her to get the message if what he said.
Maine's forehead frowned.  And yet Richard is not yet done.

"Sir, Ma'am! I know na we were "forced" to get engage.  At wala pong ligawan na nangyari, but please, I am asking your permission to allow me to court your daughter starting today.  I want you to know that my intentions towards her is clean.  Alam ko po na hindi maganda ang image ko sa inyo ng lahat, but please let me prove myself to everyone na seryoso ako sa kanya!" Richard declared.
"Dahil ba nakita mo na maganda talaga ang best friend ko at hindi isang nerd?" Paolo asked, his eyes intent on Richard.
"No! Its more than that! Kahit magpapangit pa siya sa harapan ko o sa harapan ng lahat okay lang! I wi defend her to anyone na mang-iinsulto sa kanya! But please it not only the looks, but what's behind that looks! Its more than that.  Kung maganda man siya ngayon, mas nakita ko na mas maganda ang puso niya!" Richard said without falter!
Surprised was an understatement upon his declaration.  No one was able to say a word althougg everyone can see the sincerity on the eyes of Richard. 

"You were asking their permission and yet you don't asked mine?" Maine suddenly blurted out.

"E, mamaya pa ako magpapaalam sa iyo, pag pumayag na sila! At saka kahit naman hindi ka pumayag, liligawan pa rin kita e!" Kamot ulong sabi ni Richard.

At wala bang nasabi si Kapitan!!!
