The Talk

Faulkerson Sr was surprised how his son discussed things regarding thus upcoming project with them. He was surprised to see him in his old self again before his mother died.

Sa totoo lang, Richard has never been a spoiled child. He was in fact a very intelligent and responsible child. Hindi siya pasaway kasi he was a mama's boy. Kung sa iba pangit ang naging mama's boy, sa kanya una ang epekto! He became gentleman and never did he took advantage of a woman. He didn't even use his looks para makalamang sa mga babae kaya nga nagulat siya noong naging "womanizer" ito. He never thought he would become one. Takot ito na makadehado ng babae kasi babae daw ang babae daw ang nanay at isang kapatid niya, pati na rin ang lola niya na naging sandigan niya noong palagi silang mag-asawa sa ibang bansa para magpagamot ng sakit nito. He understand na nasaktan ang anak niya dahil mahal na mahal ng anak niya ang asawa niya! Ang totoo, isa si Richard sa pinaka prinoblema nila noon dahil sa pagiging clingy nito sa ina! Hindi nila alam kung paano sa sabihin sa kanya ang sitwasyon ng ina lalo na at patapos na itong mag-aral! They did not tell him though para hindi makaapekto sa kanya.  Isa iyon dun ang hiling ng kanyang asawa!  She even promised to him na gagaling siya kaya no need to tell him na muna, saka na lang daw pag magaling na siya.  He did what she told him and even played it cool by working more than his work required para hindi makahalata ang mga anak nila plus they will be needing a huge amount of money for her treatments.  Apparently, after that everything went downhill, mas lalo lang lumala ang kanyang asawa kaya kailangan ng mga panandaliang solusyon para malabanan ang pagkalat nito.  They need treatments that cost a fortune para lang makaagapay and needless to say, their funds are getting tight.  He worked his ass off para mama generate ng more funds para sa pinakamaselan at pinakamahal na treatment once kayanin na ng katawan ng asawa.  He worked double time to the point na halos hindi na siya umuuwi at nakakadalaw sa asawa.  Alam ng asawa niya ang mga sakripisyo niya kaya lang iba ang makikita ng mga anak niya, especially noong malaman na nito ang totoo tungkol sa asawa! Richard thought na nagpabaya siya at hinayaan ang ina na kalabanin ang sakit mag-isa.  Ang napakalamig na pagtrato ang unang nakita niyang pagbabago sa anak ng mamatay ang asawa.  Hindi na kinaya ng asawa ang lahat kaya iginupo din ito ng sakit.  Napakasakit, dahil halos buong buhay ko siya ang naging kakampi ko sa lahat! Siya ang aking asawa, girlfriend, best friend, secretary at confidant all rolled into one! And when she passed away, pakiramdam ko nawalan ako ng pakpak! I have tried to explain it to Richard and his other siblings but only his as siblings were able to hear the whole story.  Richard did not listen instead he rebel thus doing his worst during those times.  He tried to reason and look for a good timing to explained evrything to him, but things got worst for the company that he needs "outside" assistance.  My wife wanted to retain this company whatever happens, coz she believe in the power of her children that they can maintain if not surpass its current state.  He promised so he did everything to hold on to this company regardless of how close it is from grasp of the loan sharks.  Good thing though that his friend offered his help.  But unknown to him, instead of himself he sends his "protégée" child.  He was a little hesitant at first but as he interviewed the child, he found her resolve unparralled.  She really is one of those blessed when it comes to intelligence.  However, his friend wanted to have her on closed watch, he thought at first, its because she is "different" from the others.  She dressed and act like a nerd, maybe because she is, but as she progress, he understood that his friend only wanted her to loosen up, kasi sobrang workaholic ng bata.  He even tell her to go after five just to stop her from working late every night! Another thing, his friend wanted her to be safe always.  He has been hearing from the office that she was being bullied but he does not received any complaints from her.  He was about to reprimand one of their employee after hearing her bully Maine, but Maine decline and told him they were friends and its a normal thing for them.  He can't do anything but he still gave the bully a warning. 

His friend wanted to see reactions from her almost "boring" child that's why he agreed for an arranged marriage, ever since he saw how Maine react around his son.  He was surprised to see Maine retaliates by looking at his son with fury and disgusts! Well, who wouldn't, imagine his some believe she was my other woman! My God, that son of mine can be my death. If he were to be asked, he really wanted to have Maine as his daughter-in-law, but he will not play God for this two kasi natatakot siya baka nasaktan lang ang dalaga sa kalokohan ng anak niya.  Kung yung dating Richard baka gawin niya but no, not now when his son is acting like an asshole.  Who would want an asshole for a husband? Definitely not the "protégée"...

But as he saw his son today, he felt proud of how he discuss things with us.  He felt his Richard is back.  And hopefully, this will be the start and hoping that they could talk.  He wants to understand his son and vice versa.  He wanted his son to go back to being the most responsible child he once been and he wanted his mom to be proud of him.  He promised his wife and he will definitely do it!

He was about to pull something on his drawer when he saw his son came in.  He saw him hesitated but he is determined to have this talk now!

"Ummm, son? Can we talk?" Tue Faulkerson Sr asked, with his determined voice.

Richard, felt something tugged on his heart and he came back, sat in front of his father.  He felt it!

He felt that he is bow ready to listen...
