Surprised!!

Maine can't hep but think why their fathers wants to talk to them, isa pa, up until now nanginginig pa siya sa inis because of the threat issued. 

"What do he mean by that? It seems na may alam na siya tungkol sa akin? Or kay Richard? Or bakit pati mga father namin involved dito?"

She went back to Richard and signalled him to follow her.  She also instructed through her mouthpiece that the drama is already done and that the target is already out of the building.  She just told two of her people to discreetly check outside if there is the possibility that their target will come back or if talagang umalis!

Richard, upon seeing her signalled to him to follow her, looked at her with a frown but still within seconds nasa likod na ito ng dalaga!
"Why? What happened?" Richard asked right away.
"You, me and our fathers need to talk about something! Just follow me, kahit ako naguguluhan!" And up they went to follow their father sa penthouse.

Upon entering the room, Maine was surprised to see the general together with their father...

"What the --- ?" Maine was about to curse when she was stopped by her father!

"Stop cursing young lady!" Mr. Mendoza said.

Maine remained silent after that, fuming inside.  She thought she was very careful of hiding her other identity yun pala alam ng Tatay niya! And how did Mr. Faulkerson know about this? She was very careful ever since.  Maine was surprised to feel Richard's hand on her as if pacifying her.  She can't no longer hold off the awkwardness... She just wanted to get this done and over with!

"How?" Maine said in one word  but her eyes says it all... Hurt, confusion, betrayal, pain, determination and anger!

"Your father knows it even before you joined Philippine Military.  You were still in training abroad then!" The general started.

"You know it and yet you son bother to tell me! Why, general? I even trust my life on you, with all the assignments you have given me?" Maine said, disappointment laced her voice!

"Young lady, don't blame him! I have known ever since your day one at the military camp! I was there during your first day, hindi lang ako nagpakita! Unang pagsabak mo, ang magpush-ups ka ng ilang beses! My God, ang limit ng katawan mo tapos pushups agad? I was about to snatch you from that camp but I was stunned when I determination on your eyes! It was like the first time I saw that you wanted to get something that way beyond your intelligence!" Tatay explained it to her.
Maine was surprised that his Tatay knows from day one, samantalang she make sure everything is discreet on her part.
"I also know what you are doing at the orphanage! Alam ko na doon ka pumupunta pag masama ang loob mo sa amin, sa akin.  Even your racing stints and your other activities!" Mr. Mendoza said again.
"Alam po ba ni Nanay?" Maine asked, she wants to know...
"Hindi, kahit ng iba mo pang kapatid maliban kay Nico.  Alam ko din na isa siyang civilian agent in aide of you.  Pi nag papa salamat ko na kasama mo siya at least I know na may magpoprotekta din sa iyo maliban  sa akin!" Tatay explained more...
"So ibig ninyo sabihin, alam na ninyo umpisa pa lang and no one told you about this?" Maine is trying to verify some facts.
"Yes. When you decided to go abroad for your doctorate, sumunod ako, I just want to make sure that my little girl is safe a d sound.  Imagine, my surprised when I saw you inquiring about how to join the military camp, sabi ko bakit? Why would you do that? And of all things you tried to join, military camp pa talaga!" Tatay explained.  She sit herself when she felt that her knees are too shaky to support her body and the last thing she won't need is her crumples in front of everybody!
"You were a protégée! I am so damn proud of you, in fact, I was the one who told everyone that "you" are that protégée.  Kaya lang anak, natakot ako! Natakot akong masyado ka perpekto and you don't need people around you to help you! Natakot ako dahil lahat kaya mo! Lahat nagagawa mo ng walang tulong namin!" Mr. Mendoza said.  Maine was shocked to say the least.  How come her dad is afraid of her? How come her dad believed that she doesn't need their help? When every time she wanted to asked something regarding things, no one in the family is available to entertain her! Wala siyang matakbuhan nung time na takot na takot siya dahil pakiramdam niya babagsak siya sa isang thesis kung saan sa sobrang daldal niya e na sagot niya ang teacher niya for giving them wrong explanation! Good thing though, she was given immunity because she was a dean's lister! How can she not see that when she is looking for them! When is seeking advice from them... Noong first recital niya, yyng kaba niya noon dahil first time niya sinubukan kasi she wants to do something out of her character dahil gusto niya magpapansin sa magulang, pero hindi sila pumunta!
"Noong first recital mo, andun ako..! Tatay added, as if reading her mind.
"Pero bakit hindi ko kayo nakita?" Maine asked.
"Dahil sinadya ko! Sinadya ko dahil gusto ko if something happens on that recital you will look for me, you will come to me and tell me your pain! Apparently, you were already have a friend that you tell him everything how you felt when you thought we didn't come! I lost the chance kasi hindi kita mahanap sa school nyo.  It took me forever to find you sitting on that branch with Paolo and he already made you smile.  Masyado kang perpekto sa mga battle of brains mo sa school.  You don't even falter when answering questions, I didn't even saw you sweat on difficult rounds, kaya how will you asked for help then, so I plan to make that recital to be an excuse para maramdaman kita, para malaman ko kung sa paanong paraan ako makakatulong sa iyo and apparently fate didn't gave me that chance, until I felt everything was making you indifferent to me. Yes, we talked but never bond as father-daughter.  Makapal na ang pader at ang hirap na basagin! Kaya I resolve to have you guarded from afar.  To at least know your whereabouts and activities! That way makampante ako na okay lang ang baby ko, ang bunso Kong babae..!" Mr. Mendoza said.
Maine remained quiet and while everyone is listening to them..

"Captain, Captain, where are you??? Nico is down, bullet in his back shoulder blade.  The room is in panic.  Other members is guarding all the treasures... Nico is still here, we cannot do transport... Chaos!" Message she received in her radio!

"Noooooo!!!" Maine shouted that made everyone in the room stunned..
