Maine was down right after she was gunned down. Medyo nagulat siya doon kaya hindi siya agad nakabawi. Mabuti na lang at mabilis ang reflex niya kaya naiwasan niya agad ang bala pero dumaplis pa din! Her arm hurts like hell but upon hearing the gunman, saying things to Richard, she took her derringer and fired the gun right away! She fired the gun right through the gunman's arm that held the gun! And then fired again to his leg to incapacitate him! Nakabawi si Richard at sinapak ang gunner! Nang bumagsak ito, pinadapa at kinuha ang baril sabay pinagsiklop ang kamay sa likod at itinali ng sinturon (sakto sa kanya ang uniporme, wag kayong ano! Hehehehe) dahil wala silang posas. Nanghihina na din naman ang gunman dahil sa mga tinamong tama ng bala. Hindi rin niya mapakawala ang kamay sa sinturon dahil masakit ang palad na may tama! Isa pa ulit sapak sa mukha ang nagpatulog dito! Nang makitang wala ng Malay ang bumaril, dali-daling nilapitan si Maine, na nakaluhod na at nakalalay ang isang kamay! Umaagos ang dugo mula dito! Namutla si Richard nang makita ang dugo sa kamay ni Maine. "Nerd, nerd, okay ka lang ba?" Richard said. "Gago ka, anong nerd?" Sabi ni Maine sanay batok sa ulo ni Richard. "Ayyy! Captain, sorryyyy! Pero okay ka lang ba?" Richard asked, still in panic! "Lt., stop fussing about me, okay lang ako, nadaplisan lang ako!" Maine said. "Pero -- !" Richard was about to protest when he was silenced with.. "Lt. Faulkerson, stand up get the others! Now!" Maine said in her very cold and stern voice that Richard flew down the stairs and call others without looking g back! Maine on the other hand, stood up and unmasked the gunman! And there he saw her culprit, she was surprised. She just gunned down on her man...
And other side, Faulkerson was about to get down to the second landing when the team was already coming up!
"Ano yung putok na narinig namin? Hindi air soft yun, Lt. Faulkerson?" Lt. Santos asked, urgency on his face! "Captain Maine was shot down!" Richard said. "Whattttt????" And everyone run to the third landing without waiting for Richard's further explanation! However, Richard still beats them to the last landing! "Captain ???" Richard asked, when she saw Maine standing and was looking down at the gunman! "Captain??? Okay ka lang???" Everyone asked. And they were all surprised to see who was down at the moment!
"Sgt. Peralta??? Captain, what happened?" Lt. Santos asked, although he already had a hint.
"He is their "eye"!" Said Maine and everyone understood.
Maine, then walked towards them while taking off her upper gear with one hand. And before they could help her, she already took of everything and saw her wound.

The bullet grazed the mid part of her arm. Blood is still dripping g from the would and they could see that Maine is wincing in pain, however, she still manage to stay cool despite of her pain.
"I want you to take Sgt. Peralta on to our hide-out. I want to talk to him. Treat his wound first, I want a sane Peralta when I reached there, okay?" Maine said while bandaging her wound with her handkerchief! Paolo helped her, while Nick helped the others to take Peralta! Nick wanted to make sure na hindi makakatakas si Peralta dahil malaki ang kasalanan nito sa kapatid!
Richard on the other hand, helped Maine and Paolo after seeing Maine being almost carried by Paolo. Medyo pagod na rin kasi ito tapos may tama pa ng bala sa braso. Inalalayan nila ni Paolo si Maine pababa ng hagdan. Blood is still seeping from her wound, evident to the now red handkerchief instead of white. Richard could see struggle o. Maine's face but she still forcing herself to project a strong demeanor! He could see beads of sweat on her forehead, her creasing forehead and eyebrow, her deep and long interval breathing... Yes, his instinct are heightened right now!
"Maine, dalhin ka na muna namin sa hospital para malinis ang sugat mo!" Paoli suggested, face pale. "Bes, okay lang ako! Mahapdi lang pero hindi naglodge yung bala, daplis lang... Mukhang bumabagal ba reflexes ko, kulang na talaga ako sa serious combat! Puro sniping activities na lang kasi ang nahahawakan ko these past three months e!" Maine said, uncomfortable yet she is enduring the pain bravely! "Bes, kompleto ka ba ng mga gamit at gamot?" Maine asked. "Huwag mo sabihin ikaw lang maglilinis? Kailangan mo ng anti-tetanus shot! Bala yun, bes!" Paolo protested. "Sus, maliit na sugar lang ito, compared sa tama sa balikat ko noon! I can treat myself kung nandidiri kayo!" Maine said to them. Paolo, after sensing that Maine will fall off anytime, just nodded her head and followed her to Nico's car! Good thing na iniiwan ang susi ng mga sasakyan sa reception as policy, she was able to have access to his brother's car. She told Paolo to look for Nico's first aid kit on the car's compartment, while Richard assisted and laid down the car's seat for her to get comfortable. "Lieutenant, ngayon ka lang ba nakakita ng tama ng baril? Ang putla mo e!" Maine said with a smile on her face, sincere yet she is still wincing. "No, nakakita na ako ng mga ganyan, mas malala nga yun, kasi tama sa likod, tiyan, hita at kung saan-saan pa!" Richard said sincerely. "O, sanay ka na pala e! O bakit namumutla ka ngayon, Lieutenant? Or dahil shock ka lang? Matagal ka nga palang nagbakasyon no!" Maine teased him to ignored the pain on her arm. "Hindi, nung binaril mo nga yung hostage taker noong nakaraan hindi ako nag-wince e!" Richard said. "O e bakit ang putla mo? Don't worry, wala nang babaril sa iyo, napatulog mo na, at nasalo ko na yung bala!" Maine said, this time with a wider smile, still wincing. "Yun na nga e, sinalo mo! Dapat ako yun, ako yung dapat nagpoprotekta sa iyo! Not the other way around!" Biglang outburst ni Richard na ikinagulat ni Maine, ikinatahimik!
"Bes, ito na yung first aid kit!" Sabi ni Paolo na medyo nagulat! Isang pulang-pulang mukha ni RJ at isang tulalang Maine ang sumalubong sa kanya!
