Richard went out of the office upon hearing Maine's predicament. Medyo tinamaan siya sa mga sinabi nito. Sabagay totoo naman, sumobra nga yata siya sa mga pinagsasabi niya sa dalaga. Since maaga pa, he decided to tire himself sa gym. He did every routine para makalimot. Ewan ba niya parang hiyang-hiya siya sa sarili niya. He stayed there until almost lunch time. Girls were flirting with him during his routine, but he just smile at them and totally ignore them, which is kinda off dahil nasanay na siya na bago lumabas ng gym, may ka-lunch date na siya! Madali lang sa kanya yun dahil guwapo naman talaga siya! Pero kahit siya nagtataka siya sa sarili niya dahil he finds girls as bland and boring na! Medyo naasiwa na din siya when girls outfit are too showy, yung parang dating siya bago pa siya nagrebelde. He find it weird...
Going back, he went to his usual place for lunch and ordered her favorite steak. He has a special corner na sa kainan na ito ever since. Kahit noong nabubuhay pa ang kanya ng ina. Dito sarili niya ang mundo niya, dito mas nakakapag-isip siya. Matagal na rin noong hurling pumunta siya dito. He got his pen and just like what he is doing before, he close his eyes and think. His hands did his usual work. After some time, he opened his eyes and was surprised when he saw what he carve on a small wood tag.

Mostly when he do this, it is mostly what occupies either his heart or mind. And this time it is all about the nerd girl. Yap, he already admit it, the girl just figuratively slap his face! He did not expect that the nerd is so pretty that even him was mesmerized sometimes. He also admired her quick wit and intelligence! The fuck, she is the protégée, pero walang mag-aakalang siya yun! Wala man lang kahit konting habang sa pagsasalita and most of all she his herself, and his herself well! Gusto-gusto niya itong kausap dahil talagang challenged ang utak niya! Matagal na rin siyang walang nakausap na nagpaikot ng utak niya! But the most shocking was her being a drag racer! Laglag panga kaya siya nung nakita niyang nagpatakbo ng motor ang nerd na yun! Literal na napanganga siya!
He is still thinking if he will go or just let Maine do her thing. Sabagay pag nangyari yun, ligtas siya! Walang kasalan magaganap at binata pa din siya! Pero bakit parang may panghihinayang? Bakit parang hindi maganda sa pakiramdam?? Ah, naguguluhan na talaga siya!!!
He is still in his deep thoughts when someone took his attention. His head snapped and stared at a very familiar chinky eyes. He had seen that eyes somewhere pero hindi niya maalala kung saan. "Kuya, why are you alone?" The little boy asked. "I just want to be alone, that's why!" He found himself answering him honestly. "Why do you want to be alone?" The boy asked again. "I have lots of things to think about and I want to do it quietly!" Richard answered back.
"Angelo!! Angelo!!" Someone is shouting and the boy look around. "Ay, Kuya, tinatawag na po ako... Sana po kung anuman ang iniisip ninyo mahanapan ninyo ng sagot! Wala pong mangyayari kung hindi po ninyo susubukan! Malay mo, siya na!!" At tumakbo na ang bata palayo! Nagulat siya sa sinabi ng bata pero bakit pakiramdam niya tama??? His phone rang...
"Hello!" Richard said. "O, ano na? Are you coming or not?" Paolo asked from the other line... "Its just a waste of time. Alam mong hindi ko type ang nerd mong friend! I would rather go to our tambayan kesa makipag rubbing elbows sa mga vultures!" Richard said, but why a bitter taste on his mouth? "Oh, well its your call, enjoy yourself!" Paolo said sarcastically and end the call...

Paulit-ulit niyang naririnig ang sinabi ng batang kausap niya kanina mula pa noong makauwi siya sa condo niya! Its already 5 in the afternoon and the party will start at 7... He decided to take a bath and go to his "tambayan" early to take his mind off from that party! He is resolved of not going to the party! He done into his usual getup of jeans and shirt, got his keys and went off.

He was driving his car and still the child's voice rang on his head.
"Bakit hindi mo subukan?"
"Bakit hindi mo subukan?"
He snapped... Aishhhhhhh! Oo na! Oo na! Pupunta na, tumigil ka na!" Richard said outloud. Good thing he was alone on his car or else iisipin ng lahat na baliw na siya! He drove back to his pad and change into a three piece suit. After making sure he is presentable enough, he got his keys and drive at the Mendoza residence where the party is. It with take some time because the house is located at Bulacan. He is being guided by Waze.
And that's why he is here! That's why Paolo is teasing him. But instead of getting annoyed, he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away from him. He wanted to look for Maine and talk to her. He wanted to make peace with her. He owed it to her!
Meanwhile, Maine is so angry, pwede siya mag-snapped anytime. Bakit ba kasi sobrang yabang ng lalaking yun? Bakit ba kasi ako apektado??? Nakakainis, kung pwede ko lang gawing target yung lalaking yun, ginawa ko na! Ahhhhhhh!!! Inis na inis na sabi ni Maine.
Something snapped from her back, her senses heightened and she immediately position herself on a fighting stance.
"Wohhhh, relax, Captain! Kalma lang po! Hindi po ako makikipag-away sa iyo!" Someone said upon recognizing the fighting stance.
