The Party (2)

Maine woke up due to pain.  And she saw heard people talking.

"Uggghhh, what happened?" She asked as she tried to sit herself on the bed.  She checked out her surrounding and found Nico and Richard talking.  She was surprised when Nico went to her and kissed her forehead and leave.  She was left alone with Richard.

"Lt, what happened?" Maine asked instantly.
"You went unconscious, Captain after the last obstacle course!" Richard said hesitantly...
Maine upon hearing it, suddenly gone silent as she remembered everything that happened.  She even touched her side wounds to check if its okay and she felt pain from it.  She winced when she touched her side.
"Did we win?" Maine asked on her cold voice.
"Yes, Captain!" Richard said, started to sweat.
"Did I shoot you?" Maine asked.
"No. Captain! You were only able to point the gun towards me but you were never able to fire it before you lost consciousness!" Richard said, sweat already visible on his forehead.
Maine stared at him, contemplating.  Richard somehow felt nervous because of that silence and was even surprised when he heard her said...

"Where are the team? Help me get up, bilisan mo!" Maine said sternly.  Kaagad na tinulungan ni Richard si Maine na tumayo ng dahan-dahan.  Siya na rin Mismo ang nagsuot ng tsinelas nito na provided ng clinic. Maine and Richard went out of the clinic and was no longer wonder if everyone is waiting at the clinic's lobby.  Upon seeing Maine, everyone formed a line and do their obligatory salute which was returned weakly by Maine.  She pushed Richard to the line as well.  She stood up in front of them...

"I am sorry that I was not able to dismiss you after finishing the obstacle course.  Things happened.  Anyways, as agreement, maiiwan ang natalong team dito -- !" Maine started to tell them plans, but someone interrupted her...

"Captain, someone wants to talk to you..!" One of the camp's soldier gave her a mobile phone.

"Excuse me guys, let me take this call first... I will be back!" Maine said before taking the phone.  Maine took the phone call and after a while, she came back with a frown on her face...

"Change of plans! We need to go back to Manila right now! Gather your things, a mission has been given for the whole team, just today! And its urgent... I need all of you in the gate in an hour! Go now! Dismissed!" Maine said before she signalled Paolo and Nico to assist her.  Richard, followed them and even offered help to get their things. After an hour, everyone is up and ready.  But because of the sudden flight, magulo ang mga gamit nila kaya itinambak na lang nila ito sa mga sasakyan, leaving the vehicle cluttered.  Maine, seems oblivious with the problem was about to step in the car, when Lt. Santos said...

"Captain, better get yourself comfortable.  The car is too cluttered for you and you need to rest and get comfy para makabawi ka.  We need you to stay alert and ready all the time.  Kaya sumabay ka na kay Lt. Faulkerson!  Mas maayos at malaki ang sasakyan niya!"

"We are a team so kung ano ang hirap ng isa, dapat share...!" Maine said.

"Tsaka baka hindi umabot to ng Maynila, mabaril ko ito!" Maine said, warning evident on her voice.

"But I think Lt. Santos is correct.  Pag dumugo ulit yang sugat mo, magiging pabigat ka, kasi umpisa pa lang sugat an ka na, so saan ka counted agad nun? Sa casualty? Ayyy, bes, ang pangit yatang mapasama sa casualty!" Paolo said, mocking her.
"They are right, Menggay, go with Richard para makabawi ka, kasi malamang sa hindi, bubukas na naman ang sugat mo sa engkwentro at magiging pabigat ka kasi iisipin ka pa nila kung okay ka lang!" Nico followed suit.
"I won't say a word nor bother you, we just want our captain up and ready for this mission.  We need to make sure na hindi mag-act up yung pain at sugat mo kung may mangyayaring engkwentro!" Richard said, eyes pleading...
"Promise?" Maine asked, out of nowhere...
"Pinky swear! I'll keep my mum, unless I need to answer you!" Richard said.
Maine can't no longer hold off her men, she needs to be in Manila right away kaya walang nagawa, sumakay na siya sa sasakyan ni Richard.
"Seatbelt?" Richard asked after he came in by the driver's sear.
"Done!" Maine said, warmed a little because of that small details.
"Okay, good! Put in the address sa Waze, para susundan ko na lang at makapahinga ka pa...!" Richard said to Maine.  Maine input the address and off they go!  Nico and Paolo shared vehicle with the others. 
"Go, sleep! Rest, para may lakas ka mamaya...!" Richard said as he maneuvers the vehicle. 

Richard : Okay ka lang ba sa upuan mo? Pwede kp siya ibaba para nakahiga ka kahit papaano...

Maine : Malaki ang leg room kaya komportable naman ako, salamat...

Richard : Go to sleep, we have two hours to reach our destination. 

Maine : Okay... Wag mo ako ibabangga or ihuhulog dito! Mumultuhin kita pag ginawa mo yun!

Richard just smile.

Maine : Thanks.  By the way, you, Nico and Paolo will go to your engagement later tonight.  Me and the rest will take care of this mission.  And I don't want to hear any complaints coming from you..!" Maine said, giving Richard as glimpse of her stern look to know she.meant what she said.

Richard : But --

Maine : No words coming from you Lieutenant!

Richard respond no more.  He keep his mum to himself.  Kasi baka mapikon na ang dalaga pag sumagot pa siya.  Maybe this is not the right time na ipilit ang mga bagay.  He would look for another opportunity para ibawi ang dalaga sa mga harsh employees nila! When he turn his head towards Maine, he saw that the she is sleeping already.  Malamang epekto ng gamot or talagang nagpahinga ito para makabawi ng lakas!

They headed off to their safe house in the city and dropped Maine there.  Maine told the three of them not to stay any longer, that they need to rest and get ready for tonight! Richard was excused according to Captain Maine.  She had called in Richard on leave for tonight, only for today because of some errands that he needs to do!

Maine and the others went inside for the details and deliberation...
