The Boss' Nerd

In the Darkness..

She is so distracted of what happened, in fact she is enraged  right now! How can that oaf got my first kiss? Of all people, why?   She will be needing more energy to deal with that, but first she needs to do this! She needs to prioritize the safety of this child.  She taped herself up and make sure that the bandage are tight enough for her body to get numb.  And pinakamakirot lang naman ngayon is yung tagiliran niya, but tolerable.  The tight bandage can also prevent her from blood loss.  When she was done taping, she put on again her full battle gear.  A bullet proof vest and her guns, her head gear with her radio on for communication.  Sino mag-aakala na may sugat siyang iniinda? Oh, well...

She went outside to check on the others.  She is still enraged but she is trying her damnedest to conceal it baka kasi mabaril niya si ang "boss" niya ng wala sa oras! Sayang ang lahi... Bulong niya sa sarili niya!

Upon seeing their captain in full battle gear, they all know the seriousness of the mission! They have already an idea na dadaan ito sa but as ng karayom before she can retrieved the victim! And she is determined to get the child.

Richard, on then other hand, felt the team's tension upon seeing their captain! They were all become serious after teasing him of why he shouted and feeling giddy earlier.  But he didn't speak about what happened, he just smiled a little and tried to hide his giddiness! But as he is surveying his team mates, alam niya na nag-aalala ang lahat sa kabilang kapitan at kahit siya ay nakaramdam na din ng kaba at takot! Hindi para sa kanya kundi para sa dalaga! He tried to act compose kahit pakiramdam niya mahuhulog na ang puso niya sa kaba!
When Maine walked towards them and and she is staring at each of them with her deep penetrating gaze, they felt somehow relieved.  Why? They saw calmness in her eyes and its like telling them that everything will be just fine and they will win this challenge.  Even the traitor Peralta is looking at her eyes as if seeking for strength. 
"The plan will run for thirty minutes, make sure that the escape pod is ready when they went out of the vicinity, Peralta and his son! I play the decoy and tried to gun down every person who will try to escape their lair.  Ibig sabihin, ako lang ang papasok sa loob at ikaw Peralta ang maghihintay sa akin sa labas malapit sa escape pod.  Ako lang ang papasok, and I will give the signal through radio if everything is clear na, got it?" Maine said.
"No, Captain! I will also go with you inside.  I may not be good as you but I could also play a decoy for you, a distraction para malihis sila at maitakas mo ang bata!" Richard stepped up in front of everyone!
"Tama siya Captain, kung ikaw lang mag-isa, mas madali ka nilang mapapainan! Mas maganda kung lahat tayo papasok!" Lt. Santos told everyone.
"But, I can hide while I have them dead one by one!" Maine said.
"And they will call for backup and habang nakikipag-ubusan ka ng buhay sa kanila, kami naghihintay lang next instructions mo sa ligtas na lugar! No way, we are a team, and we will go through the same fate as you! Tama na yung pag-carry mo sa team, we are a team, kaya kung saan ka, dun kami!" Lt. Richard said that made everyone nod their heads. 
"Tama siya, Captain! Hayaan mo naman kami ang maging bida ngayon! We need snipers as excellent as you but as for this one, mas maganda kung combat ang labanan, biglaan para hindi agad makatawag ng backup! That way, we will be able to save the child in less time!" The artillery expert said.
"Hindi ka mag-isa, Captain! Kasama mo kami!" Nico and Paolo said.
Maine could not help it but smile at them.
"E ano pa hinihintay nyo? Pasko? Let's go!" Maine said and walked out the door and took her scrambler! She was about to start the engine when she felt someone ride at her back!
"And what the hell are you doing, Lt. Faulkerson?" Maine shouted all of a sudden.
"Ummm, riding you?" Richard said.
"Pervert! Get off my bike or I will shoot you down! You will be the first on my list!" Maine said, enraged.
"Love, wag naman! Sayang ang lahi"... Richard said.
" what the --- narinig ba niya yung sinabi ko kanina?" Maine said to herself, medyo napatulala sa ngiti ni Richard.
"Wala siyang sasakyan, isabay mo na, Captain! Ipain natin!" Sabi ni Nico na napangiti sa lahat.  Even Peralta is now smiling. 
Maine just nod at them and started the engine!
"You better get ready, boss! Hindi mo madadaan sa pagpapacute ang laban na ito! Isang Mali lang, ipapabawi ko ang reinstatement mo at wala kang magagawa!" Nanggigil na sabi ni Maine.
"Aye, aye, Captain!" Lt. Faulkerson said.  After thirty minutes, they have reached the vicinity.  They proceeded to their business and brief them again of their role and functions. 
"Gentlemen, I am confident that I will get to see each everyone of you after this! Goodluck!" Maine said and disperse them!

Maine and Richard as agreed upon earlier were the first to go in.  They were at the first landing when the firing starts.  They were able to hidefast and knocked down the gunman! They immediately went on to the second landing and decided na maghiwalay para ma-cover ang area.  Maine was lost in the battle already that she went into business.  She was able to put everyone down on the second landing and is now going to the third landing.  She was about to reach the third landing when she was surprised when Peralta knocked her down.

"Captain, are you alright?" Peralta asked her.  She cannot answered him right back as air was sucked out from her because of the fall.
"Captain? Captain?" Peralta still trying to check on her.

Richard, was surprised she he heard Peralta, asking if the Captain's alright!
"What the hell happened? Where's the Captain?" Captain? Captain?" Richard asked through his radio!

"Captain? Please be well!" Peralta said and he fired his gun as he saw some of the gunman approached them.  He was about to took his Captain's vest to safety when took the radio off him and her! He was surprised.

"Peralta, the channel was bugged! I want you to took off another direction and I will go to your child to retrieve him!" Maine told Peralta.  Peralta although surprised agreed and moved towards the direction she said.  And since she was down already, she was ignored by the gunman and followed Peralta.
Maine took off and run towards the child and untie the child.  She was knocked down by the beautiful eyes of the child as he stared at him... And out of nowhere she said...
"You are worth it... You deserve that second life! Please be well!" Maine said and carry the child and run towards their escape route.  Good thing that their are limited gunmen in the area now kaya mailalabas niya ang bata ng maayos!

When she reached the safety area, she found out that Peralta and Richard was not yet able to get out of the building!
