In The Darkness (2)...

He can't moved.  He can't when he heard Maine has been knocked out.  He heard Peralta's plea but it based on the sound made, the radio was whacked out of her! He saw some gunmen at para lang siyang robot na gumagalaw making sure na hindi na makakapunta ang mga kalaban kung saan man na trap si Maine! And when he can't see nothing, he just drop on the ground trying to collect himself.  He needs to find Maine, he need to save her!
He need to save his girl!  He was about to stand up when he heard gunshots coming from his back! Ipinaling niya ang ulo sa kabilang side at nakita niya na may bumagsak na kalaban! Ibinalik niya ang tingin mula sa likuran niya and there he saw the girl he will look up to save!

Nagulat si Maine ng may biglang  kalaban humarap sa kanya, pero mas nagulat siya ng nakita niya si Richard na patayo kaya inunahan niya ang kalaban at binaril ito! Uminit ang ulo ni Kapitan at dali-dali itong lumapit kay Richard! Mabuti na lang at mabilis siyang nakabalik kung hindi napahamak ito!

"Ano bang pinagagawa mo? Muntik ka na dun!" Maine said as she pat Richard's back hard.
Richard however didn't feel any pain but instead he felt so relieved he immediately hug Maine!
"Hoy, pervert! Anong ginagawa mo? Ligtas ka na, sa susunod wag kang tatanga-tanga! Naku, kailangan mo talaga ng intensive training bago ka sumabit sa grupo ko!" Paglilitanya ni Maine..
"Hoy, ano ba?" At pilit binabaklas ni Maine ang kamay ni Richard palayo sa katawan niya!
"Wag, let me please!" Richard said, basag ang boses.
"What the --- ? Umiiyak ka ba, Lt.? Shhh, ligtas ka na!" Maine said, medyo nag-lie low...
"Mukhang natakot yata talaga itong tukmol na ito!" Maine said sa loob-loob niya...
"Thank God you are safe! Thank you...!" Richard said, and she it clearly and was appealed by what he said.
"I thought I am gonna lose just like Mom... Please don't... Please stay beside me!" Richard said, now crying without inhibitions.
"Shhh... Shhhh... Collect yourself, Lieutenant! We are still in the middle of the battlefield.  We will talk later!" Maine said and wiped his tears.  She got in front of Richard and check for the presence of enemies.  She was about to get out of their hiding place when she was caught in arms by Richard and was put placed in the back! Richard was the first to stand up and checked the perimeter and when he is sure that its clear, he signalled Maine to follow suit.  That's how it is until they have cleared the area! They were able to get out in one piece and safe.  However, as they were about to go to their meeting place, Lt. Santos is running towards them, reporting that Peralta was gunned down and needs to be moved to safety!

Maine immediately run back to their location, followed by Richard.  They already heard police sirens, meaning to say they were already alerted and will do the clean up for them! As she reached the boat, she saw Peralta lying on the floor's boat, blood dripping from his back!
"Captain, salamat sa tulong, ligtas na siya!" Peralta said, nanghihina.
"Anong nangyari sa iyo? Bakit sumalo ka ng bala?" Maine said, worried.
"Hindi ko nakita, meron pala sa likod ko e... Captain, promise me, iuuwi mo ang anak ko sa asawa ko!" Peralta said, medyo hirap na...

"Subukan mong mamatay, uubusin ko ang balang natitira sa baril ko!" Maine said, tears on her eyes, still worried.
"Hindi pa ako mamatay, Kapitan! Hindi pa ako nakakabayad sa iyo! Magpapagaling ako sa hideout pero kung maaari sana maitago ang mag-ina ko!" Peralta said, nakikiusap!
"Consider it done, Peralta pero kasama ka sa magbabantay sa kanila! You were relieve from your position starting today! Palalabasin ko na namatay ka para mabuhay ka ng matiwasay! Until such time na ready ka na ulit gampanan ang tungkulin mo!" Maine said.
"Pero.." Peralta said, nahihirapang magprotesta
"Pagaling ka muna, ayoko ng pabigat sa team ko! Live your life together with your wife and child.  Thank God for your second chance.  Pag dumating yung panahon na ka kailangan kita, magkikita tayo ulit!" Maine said, and told Lt. Santos na kunin ang asawa ni Peralta at ihatid sa isang sikretong lugar.  She made everyone swear on their grave that this secret will be between the whole team.  Peralta will remain dead in the service until he decided to come back!

Maine told her team to take Peralta to the hospital to tend his wounds.  She gave him documents bearing their new identity and some money para sa bagong buhay nila! Napaiyak si Peralta at nagpasalamat.
"Isa lang ang hihilingin ko sa iyo, Peralta!" Maine said.
"Kahit ano, Kapitan!" Peralta said.
"Ingatan mo ang anak mo! Alagaan mo siya at huwag na huwag pababayaan!" Maine said with conviction.
Napaiyak lalo si Peralta sa kanila ng tama ng bala sa likod at nanghihina, he promised that he will take care of his child until his last breath.
Upon hearing him, Maine tap his back na walang sugat at bumaba na ng boat. She let them go at susunduin pa nila ang asawa nito!

She then turned her back to Richard. 
"Ikaw, mag-uusap tayo! Bilisan mo kung ayaw mong ubusin ko ang bala ko sa iyo!" Maine said, dragging Richard back to the car! She opted to use the car, gave the keys to Nico of the motorbike...

Walang nagawa ang iba pa nilang ka samahan kundi ang sumunod na rin.  The MPD will do the clean up so they could go to remain incognito. 

Maine, took the keys and gave it to Richard.
"Ikaw mag-drive boss! Pagod na ako!" Maine said, she went in to the shotgun seat and settle herself in.  Richard somehow felt Maine's tiresome agreed right away and make sure she is safe.  He was not even surprised when Maine was not able to put in her seatbelt,  because she is really exhausted, plus the pain from her wounds!

"Boss, take me to the orphanage please! Just this time, I want peace...!" Maine said, before she closed her eyes!
