The Party

"Faulkerson, bilisan mo! Pag natalo tayo dahil sa iyo, pasasayawin kita ng bala ko!"

Nagulat siya at nakita niya na may nakatutok na derringer sa kanya!

Binilisan niya at bang makarating sa dulo ay nagulat ang lahat ng mabitawan ni Maine ang baril...

"Pasalamat ka talaga guwapo ka, sayang ang lahi mo!" Sabay bagsak ng dalaga, nahimatay ito!

"Shit! Let me through! Nasaan ang clinic???" Richard shouted at tumayo habang buhat na ang dalaga! Nang makitang nabitawan ni Maine ang baril, lumapit agad siya sa dalaga at sinalo ito, kaya hindi bumagsak ang dalaga!

Tinakbo niya agad ang direksiyong itinuro sa kanya.  At pqgdating dito, inihiga na niya agad ang dalaga sa hospital bed. 

"Doctor! Doctor!" He shouted habang inaalis niya ang sapatos ni Maine.  The military doctor together with the nurse came in.

"Siya ba Yung itinawag na sugat ang sundalo?" The doctor asked.
"Siya nga po si Captain Maine Mendoza!" Richard said as he continue to took off Maine's shoes.  The doctor immediately cut her shirt and saw the bandage the kept the wound.  It was soak in blood.
"Paano niya makuha ang sugat na ito? Wala namang engkuwentro a?" The doctor asked puzzled as he instructed the nurse to clean the wound.
"May tama siya ng sumabak siya sa training, she got it from a mission, almost three weeks ago.  She said its okay na, but I don't know kung bakit dumugo ulit!" Richard explained.
The doctor nods and check the wound.  May napunit na tahi sa sugat at doon namumula ang dugo, may pass na din sa paligid ng sugat!
"Malamang bumangga ito somewhere kaya medyo bumuka.  Good thing na maganda ang pagkakataped nito, mahigpit kaya hindi tuluyang bumuka ang sugat. Sige na, Mister -- !" The doctor started saying...
"Lt. Faulkerson, Doc... Fiancé niya!" Richard said confidently, and took her hands in him. (Taas bakod, Richard ahhh? ).
"I am sorry, yes Lt. Faulkerson, kami na ang bahala sa fiancée mo.  Isasara lang namin ng maigi yung sugat.  Wait for outside na lang po...!" The doctor said na napangiti...
"Will she be okay?" Richard asked, still bothered.
"Don't worry, exhausted lang siya plus the fact na medyo nasaktan siya sa pagkakabuka ng sugat niya.  Sige na, Lt. kami na ang bahala dito!" The doctor shooed him outside. 

"Kumusta si Menggay?" Paolo asked, the moment na nakita siya lumabas sa clinic.
"How is she?" Asked Nico.
"Bumuka yung sugat niya sa tagiliran plus sobrang exhausted daw siya sa training kaya siya hinimatay.  They let me out kasi isasara nila ulit yung sugat niya! The doctor asked me to wait outside!" Richard said in frustration.
Paolo and Nico tapped his back.
"Relax, RJ... Kaya ni bes yan!" Paolo said.
"Salamat sa pag-alalay sa kanya!" Sabi ni Nico sabay upo sa bangko.
Richard sat down as well, while waiting for the doctor.  After almost half an hour, the doctor and the nurse came out.
"Kamusta na po siya?" Richard asked right away, naunahan pa si Paolo at Nico lumapit at mag tanong.  Pareho na lang napangiti si Paolo at Nico sa ginawi ni Richard.
"She's okay! Naisara na namin ang sugat niya.  May sugat din pala siya sa braso, pero okay na iyon, sarado na ang sugat at hindi naman napuwersa.  Yung sa tagiliran lang talaga. She will be resting for a while. Hintayin nyo na lang na magising! Keep her out of training for a while muna kasi baka napuwersa ulit but other than she can resume her other activities.  Just let her rest muna, okay?" Mahabang paliwanag ng doctor sa kanila.
They all felt relieved as they heard the doctor!

It's almost lunch time and they need to go out by three, but as they talked they agreed that they could go out by five.  Needless to say, they won the game! Paoli then decided to get foods for them as well as for the Captain.
Richard and Nico were left behind.  They were both remained quiet and looking at Maine.

Nico :  What do you want with her?

Richard although surprised look at Nico's eyes...

Richard : I'm starting to like her.. No scratch that... I like her.. I really like her...

Nico : Why? She is nerd, she is moody, masyado siyang bilib sa sarili niya... At matigas ang ulo niya... So what is there to like about her...

Richard : You are correct, she is hardheaded, she is too confident about herself, definitely she is a nerd and she easily get pissed off so what is there to like about her.  I want someone easy, as you all know, I have been a "womanizer" for a while.  I have been with different girls na madaling kausap, no need for me to effort much kasi sila mismo lalapit..

Nico : Mismo! So bakit siya? Are you trying to make a pass on her? Do you see her a challenge?

Richard : Would you believe that I don't know the answer either... I just like her.  Noong nakasama ko siya, parang ang gaan ng lahat.  I don't need to impress her kasi it was she is reading me.  I feel comfortable with her.  At maniniwala ka ba kung sasabihin ko sa iyo na I find it cute kapag naiinis siya sa akin!

Nico : Menggay can be anything but cute...  She works like a robot.  She speak like a robot... And she knows to handle people, she was once called "ice princess" because she doesn't show emotions even when pressured.  She just worked her ass off until the problem was solved.  She didn't even celebrate her feat in business... Imagine, being tagged as the "protégée" in business world, doesn't appeal to her. The only time na makikita mo siyang ngingiti is pag nasa battle field na siya.  Her emotions is unconcealed and that's the reason why I joined her being one of the civilian agent of the team. 

Richard : I can see that.  The way she thinks about solving problems of RFJ Group is like a a small achievement to her.  She don't linger too much sa mga problema , she just looked over on things and after a while the problem was solved...

Nico : What are your plans about her and your "engagement"?

Richard : katulad ng sinabi ko kanina, gusto ko siya, sobra...At gusto ko humingi ng permiso mo nilang kapatid na patunayan ko na gusto ko siya! Alam ko na sa dami ng kalokohan ko, magdududa ka na sa akin, pero sana hayaan mo ako patunayan ko ito...

Nico stare at him directly to his eyes and after a while, he heard him say...

" Then goodluck! But if you hurt her, then expect to earn my wrath as well maliban pa sa galit ni Maine!" Then he offered his hand for a shake. Richard felt relieved and accepted his hand... But before he could disentangle his hands from Nico, he whispered.
"Goodluck kasi sigurado, sa panga iinis mo sa kanya, lintik lang ang walang ganti!" Napalunok na lang si Richard sa narinig...

"Uggghhh, what happened?" Maine said as she tried to sit herself on the bed...

"Simulan mo na nag-isip, goodluck!" Nico said sabay lapit sa kapatid, balik sa noo at lumabas na ito, leaving Richard alone with the captain's wrath!
