The Boss' Nerd

The Reason

Maine was so ready to face her father now.  Paolo help her taped her wounds securely.  She even took a pain reliever to alleviate the pain for the meantime.  They made sure that there is no blood stain in the bed that could be a tell-tale signs of why is she really at the hospital. There is still no sign of Richard yet na nangakong ba balik agad.  She felt agitated but she compose herself.  Hindi niya dapat panghawakan ang sinabi ni Richard.  For all she know baka nag-iisip na yun paano siya ilalaglag! Naku wag lang talaga magkamali ang gagong  yun, isusunod ko siya sa kamang ito!

Nico, texted that they are already at the lobby.  Sinabihan siya na simula na ng drama! Nakaupo na ng maayos si Maine   habang may hawak na mga papeles galing sa RFJ.  She is reviewing their correspondence, when her dad came in.
"Nicomaine, what happened to you?" Mr. Mendoza said.
"Flu happened, Tay!" Maine said,  eyes still on the documents.
"And you are working? How are you?" Mr. Mendoza asked.
"I am a-ok, Tatay! Stressed lang po kasi ang daming trabaho last week.  Tapos nilang araw na pong sumasakit ang ulo hindi ko masyadong napansin kaya po siguro bumigay katawan ko!" Maine explained.
"Where's the doctor? I want to talk to your doctor?" Mr. Mendoza asked.  Nagkatinginan ang tatlo! That they didn't expect! Shit! Mabubuko sila!

And before they could think of an alibi, came in Richard with a doctor!

"Are you sure, Doc? Yun lang talaga? Fatigue lang talaga?" Richard asked the doctor.
"Yes, Mr. Faulkerson... Your fiancée is as good as new.  Napagod lang talaga siya!" The doctor assured him.

"Ummm, Richard?" Maine hesitantly called him.
"What, love?" Richard answered her and turn his head towards them.
"Ohh! Good morning, Tito!" He greeted Maine's father.  Lumapit ito at nagmano! Samantalang ang tatlo medyo napatulala sa pangyayari!
"Doc, how's my daughter?" Mr. Mendoza said without beating around the bush.
"She is okay, medyo dehydrated at pagod lang kaya hinimatay! But there's nothing wrong with her anymore, she us as good as new!" The doctor said.
"Okay, that's good! Thank you, doc!" Mr. Mendoza said, felt relieved.
"Maine, you heard me alright.  Please make sure you are always rehydrated.  We have your lab result and so far everything's normal! Anymore for me?" The doctor asked them back.
"None, doc! Thank you po!" Maine said, kahit medyo tulala pa.

The doctor then said goodbye to them and went out.  Mr. Mendoza told them na magpahinga muna si Maine at siya muna ang mag-takeover sa RFJ for the meantime! Binilinan din niya si Richard na bantayan ang anak na sinang-ayunan naman ng huli.  He also said that he could take over for at least three to four days para tuluyang makapagpahinga ang dalaga! Hindi na nagtagal ang matanda at umalis na din agad.

"Paano mo nagawa yun, Richard?" Maine, Nico and Paolo was all eyes on him.
"Katulad ng sinabi mo, Captain! Dapat laging handa... Anticipated all angle para hindi ka malalagay sa alanganin!" Nakangiting sabi ni Richard.
"Ayos, boss! Ang bilis mo matuto! Salamat!" Nakangiting sabi ni Maine dito! Parehong laglag na ang panga ng ni Nico at Paolo sa mga nangyayari! Parang kelan lang aso't-pusa ito a? Paano???

Everything went well however they need to deal with Peralta! Since they still have four days off, they are planning to talk to Peralta the following day.  The three decided to let Maine rest for one day para makabawi ang dalaga!

Pagkalabas ng hospital, pinadiretso agad ni Maine ito sa hide-out nila.  She wanted to know everything na! Maayos na din ang pakiramdam niya maliban sa paminsan-minsan na kirot na nararamdaman! Richard on the other hand has become there constant companion.  Pero kahit mukhang okay na ang dalawa, may mga asaran moment pa din sila tulad ng minsan gustong magbanyo ni Maine kaya lang wala si Paolo para tulungan ito.  Medyo masakit pa ang tagiliran nito. 
"Boss, pwede ka bang magpatawag ng nurse?" Maine asked.
"Huh? Bakit? May masakit ba sa iyo?" Natatarantang sabi ni Richard sabay baba ng broadsheets na binabasa.
"Uhm, wala naman kaya lang kasi -- !" Alanganing sabi ni Maine.
"Kasi --- !" Nakakunot na ang noong sabi ni Richard.
"Ummm, uhh!" Hindi masabi-sabi ni Maine.
"Nerd?" Richard said, to antagonize her.
"Anong nerd? Bakit kailangan mo akong tawagin ng ganun? Magpatawag ka ng nurse, Lieutenant! Magbabanyo ako!" Maine said in a cold and Steen voice.
Richard, on the other hand was not surprised on her outburst kasi sinadya niya yun para sabihin ng dalaga ang kailangan! 

He came over her.
"Halika na, Captain! Tutulungan na kita...!" And he offered his hand on her.  At dahil galit ang dalaga, nakaisip ng pang-asar sa binata! Iniabot dito ang dextrose sa may ulunan, kunwari na-out of balance kaya tumama ang dextrose sa ulo nito!
"Sorry!" Maine said coldly with a smirk, as if challenging him!
Hindi naman ito pinatulan ng binata, instead he smirk as well and hold Maine on her waist gently!
"Bwisit na ito!" Sabi ni Maine sa loob-loob niya! At lumayo sa binata ng padabog! At lumakad ng mabagal papunta sa banyo.
Inis na inis nag-iisip kung paano makakabawi sa kumag! 
Medyo nag tagal siya sa banyo dahil sa inis at sa nakaisip kung paano babawi, ng makarinig siya ng katok mula sa pinto!
"Captain, we need to talk! This is urgent!" The general's voice echoed from the outside! She make a quick check on herself and go out quick!
Upon seeing his face, Maine knew something was up and it needs an immediate action!
"Peralta's kid was taken as hostage! They want Peralta or else the kid will die! We only have 48 hours to deliver Peralta to them!" The general's voice was laced of frustration and anger!
"But why did they need Peralta? What for?" Maine can't help but wonder.  Gaano ba kahalaga si Peralta sa kanila bakit kailangan nila ito?
"They don't need Peralta, they only need Peralta because they want to know you! They knew that Peralta has a direct contact with you! But apparently aince they dont have any information about you, they needed Peralta! They are trying to use him to lure you out of the cave! However, just to spite you more, they are blackmailing Peralta through his son to get info about you! They knew they were being penetrated but they dont know you! You have to hear everything from Peralta para malinawan ka sa lahat!" The general said.
"Then, take me out of here right now! I am not going to rest here habang may isang bata ang nanganganib ang buhay dahil sa akin!" Maine said and walked over to her bed.  She took out her phone and dialed Nico's number!
"Bring my ducati... Urgent...!" Maine said right away without further explanation! She dropped the call and took out her shirt! She needs to tighten her bandage more to be become more mobile... Mas mahigpit mas less strain sa sugat kasi mas hindi masakit! She needs to have her body feel numb!
"General, bring Lt. Faulkerson.  I don't want another trainee on my wing for the meantime! I need to focu on this mission and I don't want any distractions!" Sabi ni Maine at inilagay na sa bewang ang dalawang baril niya!
