The Goddess

The hours passed by and it was time for the party!  Everyone in the company was present.  They were dressed in fancy outfits and they are really prepared for this momentous event.  They always look forward to this event, when they can be fabulous, every once in a while.  All the employees are enjoying the night!

Richard was the first to arrive since he was the guest of honor for tonight together with his father.  However, since he is the part of the higher up, they are not required yet to make an appearance earlier.  He stayed at the penthouse - the one that was booked by Maine for them to stay.  He was with her sister, Ryzza as well.  His brother can make it since he was in abroad for a conference.  Ryzza, wearing a peach cocktail dress that reaches to her paired with a silver stiletto...

"Kuya, I thought there was new business partner to be introduce today, hindi pa ba sila dumadating?" Ryzza asked.
"Wala pa sila but I am sure they will be coming over!" Richard said when they heard the door bell rang...

"Oh, here they are as they opened the door and ushered the newly arrived Mendoza family.  Nico is with Mr. And Mrs. Mendoza. 

"Good evening, Sir, Ma'am!" Richard greeted them and took Nico's hand for a handshake. 

"By the way, this is my younger sister, Ryzza and Ryzza, this are Mr. And Mrs. Mendoza together with Nico their eldest!" Richard introduced them to one another.  The Mendozas greeted Ryzza and she greeted them back. 
"Sayang, wala ang dalaga namin, may importante daw siyang dapat tapusin.  Halos same age lang kayo, although may pagka-manang siya!" Mrs. Mendoza said, a little smile on her face.
Ryzza, smiled and thanked her.  Richard, led the Mendozas to the living room and offered them drinks to buy some time. 

Maine, on the other hand was with Paolo! Yap, that's right, she is with Paolo  and that kinda pissed her!

FLASHBACK

After paunahin si Richard, Paolo at Nico dahil sa party, she went inside their safehouse only to find out that the general us already there.  After their usual hand salute, they were instructed to be seated. 

"I have received an Intel report that the leader of the RED DRAGON will be attending a soiree tonight, the head and the successor will be there!" The general started. 

"So what do we need to do?" Maine asked.

"I don't want to raise their radar but I need you to check them out.  How they talked to people, deal within their common ground and how they do business.  I want all of you to remain undercover.  I have already put five of you under kitchen, so that means you can move freely.  Two of you will be at bartending section and some of you on the security.  And you Captain, will be part of the guest of honors!" The general said.
"What??? How come??" Maine asked, surprised.
"The party they will be going is RFJ Group of Companies Anniversary party! Does that ring a bell?" The general asked her..
"What the f -- ? Is this for real? My parents will be at the soiree! How will I do my activities there? Paano ako kikilos ng maayos at planado?" Maine asked, getting cranky.
"Malinaw ang sinabi ko, walang gagalaw, oobserbahan ninyo lang, dapat kalmado, natural! Captain, mas madali ang trabaho mo kasi you can get a chance to rub elbows with them.  You can observe them closely.  Ayaw mo nun, you can smell how they breath fire closely? You have to do this kasi ikaw lang ang may direct access sa party na yun!" The general said.
"But -- !" Captain said, about to protest.
"Can you do this or not? If not, then this case will be transfered to other team!" The general warned.
"Okay! I will do it!" Maine said frustratingly and turned her back after the salute.
"Oh, by the way, Captain, no guns from you.  Kasi baka kung ano magawa mo pag nakaharap mo na sila.  If magkagipitan, your colleagues will give you your weapons, okay?" The general reminded her.
Maine just nod her head and proceeded on her room.  She needs to cal Paolo regarding tonight!

END OF FLASHBACK

That's why she wasted at least two hours of her time just to make herself pretty enough para makasabay sa mga tao sa loob.  Hindi naman siya masyadong nag-aalala sa looks niya kasi hindi naman siya pansinin, which is a good thing, kasi she can do her job! She needs to remain incognito dahil alam niya maraming tauhan ang RDG kaya she needs to be alert dahil alam niya isang maling galaw maraming madadamay!

Paolo was surprised when Maine asked her about the party tonight.  He really thought she was just kidding when she mentioned that their mission as team is on the party.  She explained everything and after hearing the setup, he made sure that Maine will look as innocent if not pretty para hindi paghinalaan lalo na at kasama ang mga magulang nito!  He choose a fuschia pink Grecian dress na spaghetti strap matching it with silver stilettos! She dressed her as Grecian inspired same with the hair.  It softens her face and she really look stunning!

He made sure that everyone will look at her! Ngayon lang pumayag bihisan ng ganito maganda ang kaibigan kaya sinigurp niya na no one will look down on her.

"Diyosko, Bes! Ang diyosa mo ngayon!" Paolo can't help but feel giddy for her friend.  His excitement is too much. 

"Hoy, bes! Anong diyosa? Baka diyosa ng mga palaka! Hahahahah... Tigilan mo ako kung ayaw mong sa iyo maibuhos ang asar ko! Bilisan mo diyan!" Maine said. 

The party is already starting when they arrived.  Before going in, she checked the security on the front door and saw two of her colleagues.  They passed through the usual security check up. 

On the other hand, the Mendozas and the Faulkersons, were called to go down to start the proper program.  They settled themselves in front table assigned to them. 

When Paolo and Maine went inside, they were stopped by the usherette and asked for their invites.  Maine got her ID and Paolo's invites, and gave it to the usherette. She called someone inside and Maine was puzzled as to why they need to do it.  And after a minute, nagulat sila ng tumapat sa kanila ang spotlight. 

"Please let's all welcome, Ms. Nicomaine Dei Mendoza and her date, Mr. Paolo Ballesteros!" The emcee announced.

Richard snapped his head towards the door and was surprised to see Nicomaine! Her Nicomaine...
