Maine was dumbfounded when she felt she was being hugged by Richard. She felt safe inside his arms, but why? Greatly puzzled, she distance herself from Richard.
"I need to report to the team! Tell them I'll be down in hurry!" She ran towards the elevator and went down. He called the person in-charge though her radio frequency and inform them that the Captain will go to the crime scene. He dare not follow her because as of this very moment, he is still in awe when he saw the suspect went down with only a bullet on his shoulders! He did saw that snipers, of her calibre, can immobilize without killing the suspect! And for pete's sake, the precision is so perfect, no other person was hurt! If he is in that position, he will even have doubts on what to do! But with Maine, with just a split second, she had gunned down the suspect without killing him!
He saw her as she came in contact to the leader of the pack. He saw that they congratulated her and she just tapped their shoulders in response. He even saw when she went to the mother and child and interact with them. He saw how she gently carry the child and kissed his forehead. That scene really melts his heart.
"Napakasuwerte naman ng baby na yun!" He said to himself, sighing. It took him minutes watching her every move before he tore his eyes off her. He heard when the ambulance go and even the police car. He was already sitting at their common lounge when she came back!
"Good job, Lieutenant! If not for you being on the right place at the right time, non of this will pay off! But please, secure your badge the soonest possible time coz they almost doubted you if not for my own badge! Maine said, gently reminding him of his small lapses. "Sorry, Captain! That will not happen again!" Richard said, standing upright, saluting to her! "Good, coz if you are going back to the service, you always need to be always prepared since ypu are not yet affiliated to any team as of the moment!" Maine said, returning back the salute. She is stripping off her vest and and he saw that she was only clad of black sando...

"Lieutenant, I have already talked to the higher ups and told them your participation, tell me if you are ready to come back to the service, my recommendations will be forwarded and you will be properly commended! Any questions for me, Lieutenant?" Maine asked, while keeping herself busy, tearing down her sniper rifle and keeping it a bullet proof bag!
Richard, can't help but notice that she is very careful when it comes to her weapon! She really is an expert with artillery! He also notice how smooth her skin is and how feminine her body move, contrary to her expertise in the service.
"Lieutenant? Do you have anymore questions before I dismissed you!" Maine asked again, this time looking directly at her.
"Ummm, Captain, care to share how you become an expert of artillery?" Richard asked the first questions that pop from his mind...
"You need to have a valid motivation to do so. If not, firing gun will be like firing a toy gun, pointing it to everyone without knowing the reason behind! Snipers are special, especially those expert. They were designed not to kill but rather the training instill to us the importance of making sure the suspect is alive! We learn to value the life of the antagonists in the middle of chaos he created himself. That way, we s protect his life while saving his victim. Two heads are better than one especially if that suspect were expert too!" Maine explained to Richard. "May I ask what is you're motivation taking the road of being a sniper?" Richard asked. "The moment na... Ayy, wait! Close ba tayo Lieutenant? Its something too personal!" Maine said. "I apologized for that, Captain! Someday I will have that answer myself, but for now, I want that recommendation. I wanna go back again to the service and I will make sure I will have a team to be affiliated with. I just hope that when I choose that team, the team will accept me!" Richard said hopefully. "Well, I will make sure my recommendation is enough for new start in your career. And any team, I guess, would want a good looking lieutenant on their side lalo na nga mga boys! If you know what I mean! You are an expert right? With that being said and answered, you are dismissed, Lt. Faulkerson!" Maine salute and turn her back towards the comfort room. She is already done safekeeping her weapons. Richard was hurt when he hurt those words, pero yun naman ang totoo di ba? Naging gago siya, malikot sa babae, at sobrang palalo! He even planned to do evil to her! Kaya how can he expect respect coming from his captain, when she herself don't get respect from him. Respect begets respect. And he failed to do so. Regardless if her being her captain or not, the mere fact that she is a girl, I should respect her from the start. I remember what my mom told me...
"Ang babae, kesehodang ano ng estado o hitsura niya, you should learn to respect them. You never know how successful or powerful that woman can be unless you learn the truth yourself. You should always be respectful!"
And apparently, he encountered one mighty powerful woman in a guise of being a nerd! And apparently, he is earning her wrath...
Maine came back wearing her previous dress.
"Boss, anything for me? Can I have early lunch today? I need food to prep me up later sa meeting sa mga big boss!" Maine asked.
"Can I go with you? I need a break as well...!" Richard asked Maine.
"No problem! As long as you can endure the stare of the other employees for being with the nerd, let's go!" Maine said sarcastically, but she is just dodging him, who would want to join a nerd right?
"Let's go then!" Richard said, determination on his voice. Maine was surprised though, he did not and never expected it.
She was still in trance when Richard took her arm and guide her towards the elevator!
"Ummm, seryoso ka ba, Boss?" Maine said, stammering.
"Never been this serious in my whole life. Let's go!" Richard said, a small smile on his lips.
