The Lunch

They were already at the restaurant when Maine spoke..

"I told you, masisira ang image mo dahil sumama ka sa akin sa lunch.  Nakita mo yung mga tingin nila sa iyo, hahahaha, epic!" Maine laughed.

"How can you laughed at that? They were simply insulting us..!" Medyo offended na sabi ni Richard.

"Why would I be affected? Sa akin, looks lang, ikaw they were questioning now your sanity! Sira ang playboy image mo, boss! Hahaha...!" Maine said still laughing.

"I feel offended not because they question my sanity, I feel offended kasi hindi nila makikita how great a woman you are! They only look at your "distorted" looks na sinasadya mo! Sabagay come to think of it, pag lumabas na ang tunay mong itsura, malamang lahat sila magtatago na!" Richard said seriously na nagpatigil sa pagtawa ni Maine at nagpasamid dito.

Richard, gave her a glass of water.
"Maine, OK ka lang?" Richard said.
"I'm okay now! Salamat! Kaya pala mabilis mo makuha ang mga babae, pamatay pala mga banat mo e!" Maine said, medyo namumula.  Good thing na nasamid siya, kasi pwedeng isipin na nasamid lang siya kaya namumula...
"Putspang banat yun! Umepekto yata... Buset...!" Maine said inwardly.
"I am not joking, I am very ---!" Richard is about to say how serious he is but got interrupted

"Couz!!!" Someone at Maine's back shouted that made her blood boil!

"Jerry??! Ohhh, you're here, bro! Musta?" Richard said.
"Ok lang, bro! Oppps, may kasama ka pala... Waittt? Si nerd ang kasama mo??? Couz, don't tell me, bumababa na ang taste mo sa babae?" Jerry said.
Richard felt the tension from Maine.  He wanted to protect her right away from his cousin's foul mouth.
"Couz, why are you here? Don't offend her, she's with me!" Richard said, disappointment laced his voice.
Maine on the other hand, wanted to take her hand on him. She wanted to strangle him right there and then.
She remained quiet while the two is having their conversation!

"I am with someone who is sexy and alluring! I might bed her before this day ends.  You want to go in first?" Jerry said.

Richard, wanted to vomit upon hearing his words.  He is really now offended. He wanted to take his cousin out of here! He steal a glance towards Maine at parang nandidiri sa naririnig! He felt embarrassed...
"No, I am no longer playing that game!" Richard said with conviction.
"Wooohhh, that's new! Sabagay, iba ang way mo e, you want them fresh from the club kasi ayaw mo yung gamit na nung araw na mismo yun! Kumbaga, ikaw muna bago ang iba!" Jerry said.
Richard, can no longer contain his embarrassment, he took his cousin out of Maine's earshot.  He told him that he is being offended and they should  talk about his sexcapades in front of his secretary! Jerry tapped his back and smirk at him and then went away!  Richard sighed and gathered enough courage to face her again.  He just prayed that she will not make a big deal out of his "kagaguhan"!
" ummm, sorry about that! Hindi ko alam na nandito pala siya!" Richard said, namumula sa hiya!
She just shrugged her shoulders and said she is done with her lunch.  She will just wait for him to finish his and go back to office.  He said he is done as well kasi nawalan na siya ng gana dahil sa nangyari! She signal the waiter for the bill and when she got the bill, she insert money in it and gave it right away to the waiter. 
"I will have the receipt and I will put this on the company's expense.  Ako na ang bahala... Let's go!" Maine said, got up and leave.
Richard was surprised sa bilis ng pangyayari, kaya hindi siya nakakilos agad.  He felt hurt sa nangyari, pakiramdam niya, he was judge right on the spot!
Maine, however, had a different thinking although medyo na-offend siya sa sexcapade style ng boss niya! But still boss niya yun, its his life and she had no right to judge people dahil lang sa mga choices nila, mapatama o Mali man yan! But what got her upset most was that of herself.  She really cannot control herself in front of that asshole! She wanted to drill bullets on him, the moment she heard the devil's voice! Ang tagal niyang pinag-aralan ang pag-contain ng emotions niya pero dahil sa demonyong yun, nawawala lahat.  Kapag makikita niya ito, bumabalik ang lahat ng galit at sakit ng pagkawala ng isang taong pinakamalapit sa kanya!
She was not surprised when he didn't see Richard at her back! Expected na niya yun, but still she felt a pang of disappointment.  Parang he is justifying what his cousin's said.  Well, hindi naman siya makapaniwala in the first place.  He is a playboy and he plays with woman like they were his doll, pero sayang kasi she felt that he is hiding something about himself.  She felt the person, she is seeing days before is totally a different person! She felt that he is hiding something.  A pain or a loss perhaps.  Maybe an effect of his mother's demise or much more deeper than that.  Oh, well asshole will always be asshole and he is in league with a first class asshole!
She went back to the office and was not surprised when his father is already at the office. 
"Hello, Tatay!" Maine said.  Good thing she was already done in safekeeping her "things" kasi maurirat ang ama baka makita  mga ito!
"Where are the others?" Mr. Mendoza asked.
"Mr. Faulkerson, Jr is out for lunch and he will be here any minute now!" Maine said.
They have discussed some business correspondence and the current company situation.  Her Tatay is so meticulous when it comes to business procedures.  Maybe because he was highly trained to do that.  She is expecting a battle of wits later, with a four of them in one table.  Hindi siya nag-aalala sa boss niya, as she was given a glimpse of how careful he is in business dealing, kita naman noong nakipagmeeting sila nung huli sa Tuvieras.  She can sense ba magaling talaga ito, sayang asshole nga lang! Oh, well, she prep his dad on everything and made sure that everything is clear on his end para at least may challenge later.   She prepared the conference room and the drinks. 
They have not waited long, because after a while, the Faulkersons arrived, the junior and the senior! They are civil although you can still feel the tension between them.  Oh, well hindi na bago yun kay Maine, alam niya na may problematic ang mag-ama! But who is she to intervene? Napagbintangan pa nga siyang kabit di ba? Anyways, she needs to channel back herself to being Maine, the executive secretary of Richard Faulkerson, Jr.  She needs to make sure her boss, will shine in front of their patriarchs!
"Hello gentlemen, do you want to proceed with the meeting right away or would you rather relax for a while?" Maine asked the three of them.  However, her Tatay has another idea.
"Why don't we have it on Richard's office? I don't want to spoil everything by going to the conference room and have people wondering why are we having a close door meeting?"
"That's fine with me, but still people will know that we are here and a meeting between us will be inevitable since we are still in this office!" Mr. Faulkerson, Sr said.
"That's fine, as long as they know na I am just your client, nobody will suspect too much...!" Tatay said.  And after that it was agreed.
They were about to start when someone barged in.
"Hello, everyone! Am I invited?" The person said.
