The Plot Thickens...

"Help! Please help my mommy! Please!" Athena is still crying, as Richard tried to pacify her. Maine took the phone from Athena, she has to take this to let Richard remain incognito. Siya lang ang nakita ni Ate Ruby na sumunod sa kanya.

"Hello?" Maine said, sounding formal.
"Maine, please take care of the kid. Wala siyang kinalaman dito! Ilayo nyo ang alaga ko, wag mong hayaang madamay siya!" Ruby said on te other line, pleading while crying.
"Anong ibig mong sabihin? Ano ang nangyayari sa iyo? Pwede kitang tulungan!" Maine said, making her voice low for Athena not to hear them.
"Andito na sila. Pakiusap, umalis na kayo diyan, dalhin mo si Athena. Alam nila na darating kayo! Kilala nila kayo, kaya I need to do something para mailigtas si Athena. Please don't leave here. I would be forever grateful to you and to Richard. Salamat.. At sana magkita pa ulit tayo. Alam ko na hindi ninyo pababayaan si Athena. Bahala na kayo sa kanya!" Ruby said crying..
"No, Ate, ililigtas ka namin!" Maine said, voice cracking.
"They are planning a night attack on your unit. Pakihalik mo na lang ako kay Athena at sana makaligtas kayo. Pakisabi din na mahal na mahal ko siya!" Ruby said sabay putol ng linya. Maine tried to call back the number but to no avail.

She composes herself after the call. She checked herself at nang sa tingin niya ay kaya na niya, umupo at ibinaba ang paa sa sahig.

Richard, on the other hand, kahit busy sa pagpapatahan was able to hear some parts of the convo. He felt that something was drastically not right on the situation. Athena, although still crying, its no longer hysterical. He checked Athena for seconds and his temper snapped nung makita na Maine trying to stand up.

"At ano ang ginagawa mo???" Richard shouted, didn't notice that both Maine and Athena jumped as his booming voice was heard around the room!

"Answer me, damn it! Are you really trying to kill yourself??" Richard cant help his outburst.

"We need to get out of here now! We need to get Athena out of here.  Hanapin mo na si Bes, kailangan natin ang lahat ng tulong na makukuha natin!" Maine said as she took off her intravenous.  She put on her shoes.  Good thing na naka short shorts siya at lady sando under her hospital gown. 

"But -- !" Richard was about to protest when Maine cut him off.

"I will explain later please.  Masakit ang katawan ko pero kailangan na nating umalis dito! Kaya please, go! Ako na bahala kay Athena, hanapin mo muna si Bes!" Maine said, and she took her bag, na dala ni Paolo at hinagis ang isang caliber .45 kay Richard.

"Use this, Lt., just in case! Balikan nyo kami kaagad dito!  Ako na bahala dito!" Maine said and took Athena to hug her.  They both sat down sa hospital bed niya. 

"Take care of yurself for me please! Promise I wont be long!" Richard sense the urgency of the situation, took off right away to find Paolo as soon as possible.

"Ligtas po natin ang mommy ko please, Ate Ganda! Kawawa naman po siya!" Athena said to her, tears on her face.
"We will, baby! But I need your cooperation, okay? We need to make sur you are safe first pwede ba yun?" Maine said to the crying child.
"But its mommy who needs saving, not me...!" Athena said.
"I know, baby! Pero once they get you as well, sino na magliligtas kay mommy mo.  Kailangan namin ang tulong mo..!" Maine trying to psyched up the kid.
"Me po? Paano po?" Athena said, wondering...
"By letting us get you to safety first, okay ba yun?" Maine asked.
"Okay po... Tapos tutulungan nyo na po si mommy? Ililigtas ninyo po siya?" Athena said.
"We will, baby kaya pray mo na ligtas si Mommy mo okay?" Maine said, but her senses piqued when she felt someon is trying to open their door quietly.  She snatche Athena from the bed at dumapa ang dalaga, sakto pagpasok ng dalawang lalaking armado sa kuwarto.  Agad-agad itinutok ng mga lalaki ang mga baril sa higaan, kaya naunahan ito ng dalaga at binaril ang mga lalaki sa kamay, balikat at tagiliran na nagpatumba sa mga ito! Tumili si Athena dahil sa putok ng baril, at napilitan si Maine na takpan ang bibig ng bata.  Tumayo ang dalaga, buhat ang bata matapos ng ilang segundo ng walang kasunod na pumasok.  They went out nakasalubong na nila si Paolo at Richard.

"Oh, my God, bes! Wha happened?" Paolo said while Richard look around sabay ng paglabas ng isa sa mga gunman na naiwan sa kuwarto.  Binaril agad ito ng binata!

Paolo then took Athena off he and run through the exit whil Richard took Maine's hand and followed Paolo. 

"I am sorry, wala ako dun mahal? Nasaktan ka ba?  Sorry! Sorry!" Richard chants while leading her to Paolo's direction.

"Its okay! Okay lang ako, medyo na-shock lang ako na aatake sila agad-agad when Ate Ruby said na sa unit natin sila sasalakay mamayang gabi!" Maine said.

"Thanks God, you are both safe! Kung may nangyari sa iyo, hindi ko mapapatawad ang sarili dahil iniwan ko kayo! Lalo na ikaw!" Richard said sincerity laced his voice.

"I told you to look for Bes and you did find him kaya may kasama at dagdag tulong tayo kaya dont blame yourself okay? No worries we are safe!" Maine said.

After several minutes, the four of them are safely hauled in Paolo's car.  They believe that only two assasins were sent for their heads.  No one attack them nor followed them until they were able to took off.  At dahil sigurista, they even checked if may locator na ikinabit sa sasakyan ni Paolo and good thing na clear ito. 
"Pao, sa safe house tayo, sa Dei... We need to be out in the open and its the safest place!" Dei said to Paolo.
"Are you sure, doon tayo?" Paolo asked her, kunot-noo as if naninigurado.
"Oo, walang ibang safe na lugar for us dahil we all know na alam na nila ang cover natin." Dei said.
"Okay, if that's what you want..!" Paolo said and took off.
Richard, hearing those words, wrre puzzled but chose to keep quiet and tend to the sleeping Athena...
