(Ocean x Oona)
It was strange to think only the night before was filled with whistling winds, and snow blasting at anything in its path. Animals were hidden for cover, and half the town was freezing from random power outages. The roads were silent in the morning, the icy remains glittering as a beautiful yet treacherous sight. Soon the hefty plows rolled through, and a different kind of ice made the danger melt away. The sparkling white on the ground remained though, and now a young guy with dark, curly hair was working on a wondrous creation. To anyone, it would appear to be a normal snowman, but if one looked closer it was vastly different. This sculpture was a snow girl instead, and it had long, straight, dark tree branches for hair. It also had quite a longer coat than most, green gems glinting in the waning sun as buttons for a coat. The eyes were brown and warm, while the nose and mouth made of grey rocks were just right. There was a shiny, purple party hat atop its head, resembling one when the person was celebrating too early when they were set to the task of saving the world. The boy sighed as he stepped back, jumping slightly when one of his friends spoke up from across the street.
"Why don't you talk to her? It's been 5 years, Ocean. We just all stopped being teenagers this year," a redheaded girl pointed out.
"You don't understand, Olympia. Things are too complicated to work out. I tried," Ocean claimed, placing his hand over his heart.
"I'm sure she misses you," the auburn emphasized.
The boy slowly nodded his head, his gaze shifting to the sparkling diamonds below, or at least that's what the crystalized ice looked like to him. "I'm not so sure about that."
He then strode off, his footsteps leaving indents along the snowy sidewalk. He needed a bit of fresh air to clear his head, and this type of chill was perfect for waking oneself up. Eventually he couldn't help but pause outside her old house, an old memory hitting him similar to a tidal wave. Things were much warmer then like the tropics.
A young girl was sitting quietly on her bed, aimlessly sketching gadget designs. She should have been outside on a snow day, but instead she was staying where it was a comfortable temperature. Suddenly she caught a glimpse of someone with dark, curly hair outside her window. She instantly grinned widely, grabbing a white and green striped scarf. She carelessly tossed the longer end over her shoulder, barely grabbing her neon green coat in time.
"Ocean! Hey, Ocean," she called.
"How's it going, dudette," Ocean asked. She always wondered why he called her that more than the others. Little did she know it was to hide is growing crush on her.
"Great! Never better!" Her excited breath swirled forward in clouds of air. "Uh... Do you wanna build a snowman, or a snow angel? Or better yet... a gadget?"
"A gadget out of snow," Ocean kindly asked.
"Well, no, I was thinking more of a real gadget..." She blushed faintly, her pale complexion aglow.
"What kind," Ocean wondered.
"Any kind you want! We can even make one to help out with your creatures!"
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's do this," agreed Ocean in a raised volume.
Soon they were sitting inside, busily putting loose, plastic fragments together. In no time they had gone through two mugs of hot chocolate each, an entire bag of tiny marshmallows, and had their fair share of chocolate chip cookies. They were quite exhausted and full to say the least.
