"Oouu.." I hissed as the cold gel touched my stomach.

Jahseh tensed up in the chair.

"Its okay. Is this y'alls first child?" The ob/gyn doctor asked as she chuckled. "All parents get scared, its okay."

"N-Nah, its our second child, but its the first time I'm here."

"Oh. Were you guys seperated?" She put on some gloves.

"Something like that. I wasn't there for my first child, my son. I feel like I missed something important and I'll forever regret that."

She gave him a sympathetic smile. "But you're here for this baby. And even better, your son can be there for his baby sister or brother. Both of you can experience this together." She grabbed the doppler and paused. "Is your son here?"

I nodded. "Hes with his grandma."

"Bring them in. I won't tell." She smiled at us.

Awwee. Yeah imma cry. Its just they only allow one person-

I'm crying for no reason.

Jahseh nodded and walked out of the room to get Cleo and Jamal.

"Oh hes adorable." She complimented Jahseh. "He seems frightened but excited."

I giggled. "Yeah, he's just eager to make sure the baby is okay and also the gender, if its possible. He truly believes its a girl, I think its a boy."

She laughed.

The door opened again and Jahseh walked in with Jamal in his arms. Cleo came in after them.

"This is my mother-in-law, Cleo and my son, Jamal."

The doctor smiled. "I see the resemblance. He looks like his father and his father looks like his mother." She chuckled.

Cleo giggled.

"Take a seat. I'll show you guys the baby's heartbeat."

Jahseh sat Jamal down on his lap.

"Dada, carr!" Jamal pointed to his toy.

Jahseh kissed his forehead. "Mhm, munch. Look, the baby."

The doctor grabbed the Doppler and rubbed it on my stomach.

"Baba! Baba swlleeeppinngg!" Jamal screamed at the doctor.

"Doctor is checking on the baby, bubba."

"Nooo no no no. M-My!"

Jahseh stood Jamal on his lap and hugged him. "Shhh."

"Ready?"

I nodded.

"There it is." The doctor smiled.

Jahseh's eyes lit up when he heard the baby's heart.

"Thats a healthy heartbeat, right?" Cleo asked anxiously.

"Yes, ma'am." She turned to me. "Your child is extremely healthy. Look this is your baby's head, this is its body." She looked between me and Jahseh. "Would you guys like to know the gender?"

"YES."
"YES."
Jahseh and I said at the same time.

"Its a BOY-"

"GIRL!"

"FIGHT ME!"

"I'LL FIGHT YOU WIT MY DI-"

"Boy shut up!" Cleo covered his mouth. "We're so sorry."

The doctor laughed. "Oh, its alright. Ah, are you guys ready?" She moved the Doppler and eyed the screen. She let out a gasp. "Its a girl!"

Jahseh jumped up with Jamal and cheered. "I KNEW IT!"
