chilling at the roof of your house, staring at the moon above the dark blue sky. only few stars decided to shine this night, the sound of door banging made you flinch and sigh.

you went over the edge of the roof, you hung at the edge while gripping onto the sidelines and kicked the window open to your room, you swung yourself inside and immediately closed the window.

you went out of your room and went downstairs to see your lover, spinel, pacing back and forth in the living while mumbling gibberish.

"what's wrong?" you asked, this made the gem stop pacing and look at you. "i was going to visit steven today right?" you nodded as you remember her telling you this earlier this morning, though why is she home this late?

"well guess what? star boy still hasn't forgotten my entrance scene to this damned planet! he kept on telling me that everyone as forgiven me for that shit, but he's still awkward towards me!" spinel ranted and started pacing again.

you went up to her and placed your hand onto her shoulders "well, you have the understand that the boy has went through alot and has gone out of his way to save this planet. also-"

"so you're siding with him?" spinel said as she slapped your hand off her shoulder, you shook your head "no, but you have to understand-" you started but spinel didn't let you finish.

"oh i completely understand. you're understandably on his fucking side on every issue i bring up that involves mr steven universe. when are you gonna take my side huh y/n? WHAT ABOUT ME?!" you flinched as spinel raised her voice and backed up a little.

"spinel i-" you can't even form a small statement as the gem kept cutting you off.

"if you're on his side, then why are you here? why are you persisting on staying with me? do.... even love me?" spinel said as she slowly walked towards you but stopped at the last words and hung her head low.

"of course i do spinel." you said as you tried to place your hand back to the gem's shoulder.
but spinel growled and slapped your hand away again "i don't need your fucking pity!"

slap.

as if the world has momentarily stopped, the stinging slowly crawled it's way up to the epicenter.
you slowly turn your head to look at her horrified face, tears started brimming and you held your face before running upstairs.

"y/n!!" spinel called out before running after you.

you slammed the door shut, you opened the window again and sat the edge before hoisting yourself up the roof while gripping the sidelines. you steadily walked up at the very top and sat down while rubbing your slapped cheek as tears flows down.

you hugged your legs together and sobbed.

spinel swung the bedroom door open and looked around to see if you're there, she searched the bed to only see pillows underneath. she looked at the open window letting soft winds in, she looked at the empty residential streets with warm yellow street lights planted left and right on the sidewalks.

spinel was about to scream out your name but she heard soft sniffles above, spinel looked above the rooftop. she stood up at window frame and stretched to climb up the rooftop.

her eyes widened to see you huddled up all alone at the very top, spinel got on the platform and slowly walked towards you. she stopped and sat down next to you, she listened to your sobbing and sniffing. spinel couldn't help but cry as well as she hurt you.

spinel swore to her life that she'll never hurt you but.... she still did.

spinel looked up at the almost bare night sky, letting her tears flow down to her cheeks and fall onto the dirty roof tiles.

"i'm so sorry." spinel finally said as she hung her head low "i didn't mean to hurt you y/n, i'm sorry. please... forgive me..." the gem said as she lifted her quivering hand in attempt to place it onto your head but failed.

you slightly lifted your head off your legs to look at spinel who's tears are flowing non stop, you wiped your tears with your already wet long sleeve and softly embraced the pink gem.

"i forgive you... i'm also sorry too." you whispered, spinel sniffed and lightly chuckled "don't apologize when i'm apologizing." she softly wrapped her arm around your waist to pull you closer.

"shut up, it's my fault too you know." spinel scoffed and rubbed your back "well my apology is right and yours is wrong." you rolled your eyes playfully and softly smacked the back of her head.

spinel pulled away to softly cup your cheeks, a wave of pain and guilt washed over her when she saw the cheek she slapped completely red. spinel rubbed it with her thumb but your held her hand and wiped her tears.

"i love you and i'll always will. never forget that." you said as you leaned against her touch, spinel softly smiled and started to lean close to you.

"i love you too y/n, always and forevermore." you felt your insides grow warm at her words, you stared directly into spinel's shining magenta eyes before closing the distance between the two of you.

past, present, future.
whether for good or bad, you'll always end up in my arms.
