a big great roar echoed throughout the thick forest, alerting the hunters that the beast has woken.

"w- what was that..?" a hunter asked, clearly shaking to his boots. the leader raised his hand to stop the chattering and continue forward "no one will make sound unless you want to be a meal for whoever made that noise."

as the small group of hunters advance further into the forest, the leader abruptly stopped his team and listened. "why did we stop?" a curious hunter asked as he doesn't hear anything after the roar.

"i hear a child." the leader said before running after the sound of the seemed child, his crew looked confused but they have no other agenda but to follow their leader.

passing through trees and jumping over twigs, might as well crushing them. the leader came to a halt, slowly walked to a tree and hid behind it, he poked out his head to see, indeed, a child.

the small child sat on the green grass, playing with small mystical creatures. she giggled as a baby phoenix licked her cheek, lightly warming it up.

"boss, did you find the child? the one you heard?" the hunter asked as all of them finally manages to catch up to their leader. "yes, this one's special. this is the king's daughter!" he shouted but still whispered.

"huh?"

the leader groaned and rolled his eyes to his men's ignorance "the king's daughter has been missing for months and wants her back. whoever returned the princess will be granted extreme riches!"

the men looked at each other and widely grinned as they can imagine themselves bathing in gold. "let's get her our gold mine then!" a hunter stepped out of the bushes and walked over to the child.

"hello, little girl." the man said, he kneeled down in front of the girl and put up a smile. you looked at the man, the small creatures growled and hid behind you.

the small phoenix flew on top of your shoulder and squawked at the man. "hello." you said lowly, you noticed the gun dangling on the man's waist but you pretend you didn't notice it.

"are you the princess that went missing?" you lightly nodded, the man's smile grew even more and that made you uncomfortable. "well, do you wanna go home to your castle?"

you shook your head "no."
the man rose a brow "no?" he repeated. "i don't want to go back to papa, he's mean and he'll lock me in my room again." you said.

the man huffed "well, that's not my problem. i'm taking you back to your papa and we'll have our gold." he grabbed your wrist and started pulling you.

you struggled to get out of the man's grip, the phoenix shot flames to the man but it wasn't enough.

"mama!!" you called out, the man chuckled "your mama isn't here to save you little girl, you're going back to your papa!"

"no! MAMA!!!"
then the earth shook as the biggest monster of this forest landed behind you. the man slowly looked up to the monster, she growled and her eyes glowed malevolently as she stared down at the man holding her child.

you rolled your head back to look at the monster behind you, you smiled and bit the man's hand causing him to let go and hiss in pain.
you threw a raspberry at the man, the monster lets out a might roar causing the hunters come out of their hiding spots and run for their lives.

spinel huffed and shifted back into her normal state, you turned around and jumped into her arms. "thank you for saving me." you said with a bright smile.

"y/n, i told you to have to tell me where you're going. how did you even get down the cave anyways?" spinel asked as she settled you down on the ground and kneeled down to your height.

"they helped me and they said they wanna play. also, i didn't wanna wake you up, you look so peaceful sleeping." you giggled, spinel looked at you and sighed.

"i'm just glad they didn't hurt you." spinel stood up then shifted into her monster form. "get on, i know a place we can eat." you gasped and hurriedly got onto spinel's back with the help of your friends.

you gripped on spinel's thick sharp skin, spinel flapped her wings and started to fly above the vast forest then up into the bright blue sky, letting your head touch the clouds.

"WOOOO!!!" you screamed in excitement, feeling the wind hitting your face. spinel smiled and took her time flying, letting you enjoy ever single bit of it.
