your mother asked as she gave you your lunch, you grabbed it "why, yes of course." you grinned and stuffed the food to your bag. your mother playfully knocked your head making you giggle.

"alis na ko ma" you said as you swung your bag over your shoulder
(i'll go now ma)

"sige, ingat ka anak ha?" (okay, be careful okay?) you nodded and got out of the house and out in the american neighbourhood streets. your family ended up moving since your father got a new job, also some of your family members live here.

walking down the pavement, you brought out your phone and earphones. plugging it in and quickly search for a perfect song while heading to school.

you finally selected one, looking ahead, you can see a group just ahead of you. stuffing your hands to your pockets while playing with your fingers as you tried not to dance in the streets to not make a fool of yourself.

then at the corner of your eye, you saw a girl at the other side of the street looking like she's trying to keep a low profile. you tried to see the slightest bit of her face but her hoodie is completely covering it.

unfortunately, you bumped with a bully's back.

"sorry." you said as you tried to pass them but they blocked your way, "puta." (shit) you tried the other way but they also blocked it.

you really don't want to deal this at the very first day of the 'american dream' day. "can you please move? i'm trying to get to school." you said in front of the jackass.

they only grinned "you're not from around here, are you?" they said. "obyus ba?" (isn't it obvious?) you said with sarcasm in your tone. the bully looked at you in confusion.

"huh?"

"hatdog!" you snickered before laughing, you pushed them aside and kept walking "ang bobo naman." (what a dumbass) 
"hey, what the hell did you just say?!" they said behind you. you smirked.

"it meant 'hi, nice to meet you,'!" you said then started running to get to school faster.
as you got to the campus, you saw alot of students getting in. taking a deep breath, gripping your bag straps tightly and got inside.

passing through the walking students as they rummage their locker, you fished out a paper inside your pants and looked to see your classroom number.

as you walked through the sea of students, you accidentally brushed someone's shoulder. you immediately said your sorry and continued, but they aren't.

"hey asshole, what the hell was that for?" a girl said as she gripped your shoulder to make you face her. just by looking at her face that is caked by foundation and make up, isa siyang gaga

"wait... you look asian! are you from korea, japan or china?" does this girl know that those three aren't the only asian countries.

cringing, you backed up and gripped your bag straps "sorry, i don't speak whore." you stuck out your tongue and started to run into the crowd to lose the whore.

then you accidentally slammed into someone's chest, for the first day in a new country, there's always bumps.
"ano bayan.." (what the heck) you backed up and gave the person a small bow before saying your sorry and started heading to your class.

that person you slammed into is spinel, she touched her chest and looked over her shoulder to watch you check every door to see if it's your classroom.

slowly bringing her hood down, she started walking behind you. the two of you have the same classroom, she managed to have a little peak at the paper you're holding.

as you finally found your class, you took a deep breath and got inside. the seats is slowly getting filled up, you instantly picked the seat next to the window and settled your bag down to the ground.

spinel sat just a row behind you and just seat symmetric to yours. she looked at your physique as you're busy daydreaming while looking out in the window.

"can i help you?" spinel snapped out of her daze as she heard your voice, you noticed at she's staring at you. spinel shook her head and looked down at the floor.

you rose a brow and huffed "i'm y/n, if you're wondering." you extended a hand to her. spinel looked at your hand at the corner of her eye "spinel.." she said as she slowly shook your hand.

"ang ganda't cute mo." (you're cute and beautiful) you suddenly blurted out, you clasped your mouth with your hand and a small blush came to your cheek.

"what?" spinel said as she didn't understand what you just said, you shook your head and flailed your hands as if trying to swat a fly away.
