" y/n for the last time, go to your room! can you not see that your father is busy?! also, you are not playing with those lowly children. "

your father shouted at you, you gripped the end of your dress. slowly turning around "yes father.." you mumble and headed out of the throne room.

"when is that monster going to come?" your father asked to one of the royal guards, you stopped for a second as you heard the word monster.

quickly leaned against the wall, you eavesdropped on their conversation. "not sure but it will come soon as we captured a phoenix." the royal guard said.

your father nodded, he gripped the handle of his sword. "of course it'll come. it is, in fact, the ruler of that forest."

you've heard enough, slowly walking in the concrete hallways, you pondered on the thought of the phoenix your father captured. you would care less about people getting send to the dungeons but...

you always have pity for the creatures.

taking a deep breath, you planned on setting that phoenix free and put them back to the forest to where they belong. with your plan set, which you really don't have, you ran towards the dungeons.

as you pushed the heavy metal doors, the smell made you cringed but you ignored it. you made your way from the stairs, you jumped up and grabbed a torch out of it's holding place.

you yelped as it also fell but you held it up with your small two hands, barely. finally reaching the dungeon itself, it ain't pretty.

you slowly made your way, calling out for that phoenix. the empty cells seemed so creepy and eerie that you almost wanna turn back and forget about the phoenix but a small roar echoed throughout the cold walls.

you smiled and quickly headed to the roar, you stopped in front of the small cage inside is a drooped and drained phoenix.

"oh no.. what did they do to you.." you kneeled down and leaned the torch to a crate nearby. you looked at the lock, a little bashing will do the trick, you stood up and started looking for something you can use. "wait here, i'll get you out."

you grabbed the torch again, then you noticed a crowbar at the corner. grinning, you grabbed it and the heaviness overwhelmed you but you managed.

"oh boy.." you grunted, you dropped the torch and raised the crowbar above your head then started bashing the metal cage.

after a few drops, the phoenix flew out of it's cage and lit up a small light for you to see them since the torch burned out when you dropped it.

smiling, you dropped the crowbar and petted the creature's head softly. "let's get you outta here, you don't belong in a cage." you started running out of the dungeons with the phoenix behind you.

as you pushed the metal door open to squeeze yourself out. the creature hid inside your dress, you giggled "that tickles!"

then a big roar shook the earth and made you tremble a little from the force. the phoenix squeaked "oh... is that your mama?" you pointed out the roar which the creature nodded to.

"okay then..." you started running to the stables which is the only way for your father and other royal guards to not notice you leave the castle. you ran outside of the castle protective walls, passing the afraid and panicked merchants and townspeople.

you sneaked passed the guards over head, you looked what's in the horizon to see a big monster in the distance. your mouth went agape at the size of it but the phoenix beckoned you to go closer to it.

as you finally reached the foot of the forest, the phoenix got out of the dress and flew towards the monster. you watched as the small creature flew to the big monster's face.

"g- goodbye then.." you said as you turned around, heading back to the castle though you really don't want to but your father will be worried if he didn't see you.

"you don't want to go home, do you?" a voice said, slowly looking over your shoulder, you saw a woman with dark pink hair with magenta hues and her left eye got a scar.

"who are you?" you asked as you fully turned to face the woman "i'm spinel." you looked up to see the big monster gone, your eyes widened "d- did you see the monster? how did it disappear suddenly?" you looked around for it but you couldn't see any of it, how could you miss it when it's so big?

spinel chuckled then the phoenix from before flew and settled on her shoulder "you'd be surprised kiddo. also, your mom left a note for ya." she said, "my mom?"

spinel nodded, her ear twitched at the sound of heavy hooves getting closer. she looked at you and held out her hand "so, are ya comin'?" you looked at spinel's hand, it looked rough and soft at the same time.

slowly raising your hand then you placed it on top of hers. she held a tight grip of your hand and smirked. "better hold tight onto me kid."

"what do you.... mean?!" you screamed as spinel shifted into the monster before, she tossed you overhead then the phoenix caught you in time and rode onto the monster's back.

you trembled violently and gripped the monster's scales tightly, the phoenix gave you a reassuring rub on the shoulder.

then the three of you flew to the deepest parts of the forest, with you leaving your home behind as you create a new one.
