whilst trotting around the woods, searching for any nibbles of food lying on the ground.
a huge furry paw blocked your way.

you slowly looked up to see a pack of grinning cats above you with their glowing hungry eyes.

"uh... bye!" you quickly ran away, you squeezed yourself in tight spaces but they'd always slash it. you prayed that you'd get to live another day as you tried to run up to a tree.

but a cat bit your tail making you squeak and hiss in pain as you can feel their sharp teeth.
"come on, let's add this one to the others." a cat said, all of them agreed and carried you with them biting your tail.

you tried to swing and drop down to the ground but they only tightened their bit, you think your tail's gonna cut off. eventually you gave up and left your hands dangle.

"where have you all been?" a voice said as you saw a shadow illuminating, you slowly looked to see a pink cat. must be a rare one.

"we just went hunting." a cat simply stated, spinel raised an eyebrow "we already have enough to provide for winter. if you kept over hunting, we just might starve and it's gonna be your fault." spinel growled as she walked close to the cat, they lowered their body and ears, clearly overwhelmed.

then spinel snapped her eyes to the cat who's holding you, she started walked towards the cat. they started trembling as their alpha is approaching them, spinel looked down at you with her bored magenta hues.

"and you call this hunting? this rat couldn't even make a kitten stuffed just by looking at it's physique." you frowned, well it's kinda their fault for stealing all of the food here!

spinel rolled her eyes "drop the rat." she ordered the cat which they nodded and immediately opened their mouth to let you go.

you tried to make a swift escape but spinel pinned you down with her paw, you grunted and gritted your teeth as you tried to get out of her paw.

spinel only chuckled seeing your struggling figure, then she bent down to bit your whole body to carry you but her bite isn't hard enough to kill you.

then she turned to face her pack "start preparing for the first snow, make sure the kittens are warm as well as your paws." the pink cat started climbing up in her own tree.

"alpha, what are you gonna do with that rat?" a cat asked as they watched their alpha climb up and land on her tree. "i'll have a fine dining with this rat, now do not disturb me and get moving."

then spinel spat you out making you roll on the leaves serving as a mat. you shook your head, spinel closed the wooden door and slowly walked up to the oil lamp.

she twisted the knob, letting the light lit up her hole. you frantically looked around for an escape but the hole doesn't have holes.

"if you wanna escape, the front door is always open. you can jump down at the opened mouths of my pack." spinel giggled and laid down on the leaves, her eyes glistening from the light as she stared at you.

you gulped and backed up to a wall "w- well? aren't you gonna eat me or something?" you said with your voice quivering.

"i can't bring myself to rat." she softly said "i have a name and it's y/n." you stated as you crossed your small arms. spinel chuckled "y/n... that's a nice name for a rat. well-" then spinel stretched her fluffy body and shook her head as she smacked her lips.

"i'm spinel, the alpha." she said with pride as she flashed her sharp canine teeth. "that's nice, that's nice." you said before trailing off.

"can i go home now?" you asked, spinel pushed her front door open letting the light of the fire go in and the sound of meowing are heard from below.

"be my guest rat." she said mockingly as she extended her paw out with a smug look on her face. your eye twitched, you dropped down and glared at the pink cat.

"i guess not." she closed the door and she started walking towards you, she sat down with her looking down at you. "what." you said.

then spinel dropped her body down in front of you making you flinch and some leaves fly momentarily "you're reminding me of someone, but i can't put a finger on it." she whispered.

your ears twitched as your nose moved around a bit, before you could ask what she meant by that, spinel shook her head and pushed you more onto the wall with her snout.

"you will stay in this tree of the rest of winter, i don't think rats can survive out there on their own. you can get out of this tree freely, my pack will automatically see you and if you wait for to huddle in our trees in the winter, you'll be a rat popsicle." spinel said with her tone of voice didn't change into threatening.

you don't know what's worse, her saying that in a soft tone or in the threatening one.

you took another gulp as your heart races.
"so, whaddya say?" she asked.

"i'll... stay."
