" do you guys know spinel? "

the gem hybrid asked the three all superior gems, they looked down at steven with confusion and interest. he looked over a boulder of rock, he ushered the small pink gem to come out.

spinel gulped and slowly walked out of the boulder, she looked up at the diamonds. she felt instant intimidation in the presence of them "this is spinel."

"oh, pink's lost treasures.." blue said "well ste- spinel, since your planet is so disgusting. we'll be taking spinel with us, what do you say starlight?" white asked.

spinel whimpered and looked down at the sand, she does want to start from scratch with somebody but...does she want to be with someone who is related to the person who left her?

"i... i think i'll stay here for a while." spinel finally said, the diamonds including steven looked shocked "why won't you-" before steven could finish his sentence, white diamond intervened.

"well, we cannot force you to come with us. if you want to come to homeworld, you're always welcome to visit." she said sweetly, she turned her body around and started heading towards their ship. they got in, then zipped out of earth.

spinel watched as a star flashed for a second, she looked back at steven and the others. he looked like he wants spinel to go with the diamonds, she knows the boy wants her to leave this planet...just not today.

spinel waved her hand in goodbye to them and started running to whatever she wants to go. the gem ran passed the closed shops then she made a hard right over to an alleyway.

she stopped then slumped down, she can feel some tears threatening to fall, spinel held her legs close to her chest and hugged it.

while she's sobbing, a creature started to slowly walk up to the gem with pure curiosity and slight fear. the creature lets out a light meow making the gem whiff her head towards the sound.

the cat flinched but continued to meow, spinel couldn't see so she made her gem emit pink light. she held out her hand, the cat sniffed her hand and gave it's paw to her.

spinel lets out a light gasp and a small smile, she slowly grabbed the kitten off the ground and placed her on her abdominal. the kitten sniffed her all around, especially her gem. spinel giggled and touched it's fur.

as her hand gets close to the kitten's right front leg, it hissed and backed up. spinel frowned, she stood up and got out of the alleyway to see the kitten in full light.

spinel's eyes widened as she saw it's leg burnt like greg's when the poison splashed on him. "oh no...no no no, i'm sorry.." spinel said as she started to breakdown.

the kitten noticed her panic, it meowed again and rubbed it's cheek onto hers making it purr. spinel looked at the kitten and chuckled, she patted it's back and stood up.

"come on, let's get you fix and cleaned. you smell like a trash baby." the kitten playfully hissed making spinel laugh, she quickly ran back to the beach house and she saw steven smooching the ground.

"steven!!" she called out making everybody look at her running towards the boy, steven stood back up and looked at the gem as well as the kitten she's holding.

"what is it spinel? is that kitty?"

"oh, that's what it's called? anyways, steven heal her leg quick!" spinel held the kitten up and showed the burnt leg, steven lightly gasped and quickly went over to the kitten to give it a light kiss.

the kitten hissed and tried scratching him but steven immediately backed up, spinel looked at your once injured arm that's now healed. she smiled and hugged the kitten tightly, it purred and rubbed it's face to spinel's cheek.

"is this why you didn't want to go with the diamonds?" steven asked as he watched the scene in front of him. spinel pulled away from the small hug and looked at you directly in the eyes.

"yeah, i think i'll have a fun time with little y/n." she said as she booped your little nose.
