cold streaks of tears ran down your cheeks, your whole body wouldn't function to your command, you wanted to stand up but you can't. you wanted to run but you can't, you wanted to hold her but;

you can't.

you slowly dragged your body towards her, you placed both of your palms on the shards of your beloved as tears continued to fall onto the cold palace floors.

while picking up every last piece of her, a voice said "should we eliminate this human too?" your eyes widen as you heard those words.

you stood up while carrying the shards using your shirt's helm, looking up to the diamonds with their gaze looming darkly over you. while holding the shards closely, you ran towards a gem you know.

you asked them if they could wrap you back to earth, good thing they agreed. the gem lead you to another wrap pad that is outside the palace, both of you stepped on the wrap and the gem activated.

few seconds later, the gem brought you to little homeschool. you thanked the kind gem and said your goodbye, you frantically searched around little homeschool for a certain gem hybrid.

as you finally saw a familiar pink jacket walking by, you immediately ran towards him; "steven!!!" you called out, this quickly got the boy's attention.

steven smiled as he saw you, but as soon as you got closer to him, his smile turned into a frown. "y/n, is everything alright?" he asked the tired human, steven looked at what you're holding in your shirt.

"what's—"

"spinel. . . steven, please i need you to help me!" you said as you slowly unravel the helm of your shirt to see the shattered gem.

steven gasps as he covered his mouth, "who did this?!" you pursed your lips as you gripped your shirt tightly.

"you're going to be alright alone in homeworld?" steven asked as you stepped on the wrap pad, you happily grinned at him.

"i'm not gonna alone." you patted his back "let's go! a certain gem is waiting for me!!" you said with ecstatic, steven chuckled then the wrap pad activated bring the two of to homeworld.

specifically; right in front of the three— four diamond thrones, all of them are occupied except the pink one.

this brings a somewhat uncomfortable vibe, especially for steven. he nervously laughed, "oh my steven! what a pleasure surprise to see you here!" white said with glee.

steven rubbed the back of his neck, "yeah, where's spinel? my friend here is looking for her." steven asked the diamonds, though they seemed. . . uninterested.

"she's right here, dear." white said as she opened her hand to reveal the pink gem, who seemed. . . afraid.

it's quite hard to see since she's very far and high, steven waved at the gem and looked back at you. "well, i'll pick you up before dinner okay?" you gave steven a thumbs up.

steven nodded, he flashed you a smile until the wrap pad took him back to earth.

as soon as steven is gone, a blood curling, bone crushing crunch was heard from behind you. turning around slowly, white turned her palm sideways to let something fall to the ground.

the room seemed to turn darker, the atmosphere became thicker making it hard for you to breath, tears started swelling up until your body became unresponsive.

" w- why. "

you and steven ran as quickly as you two can to his house, steven pushed the door open as well as kicked the bathroom door.

quite an unnecessary doings but it doesn't matter.

you arranged every shard to it's correct placings, while steven rummaged around to find the diamond's aura bottles. as the boy finally found the bottles, he threw all of it onto the water filled bathtub then licked his entire hand and slammed it on the water.

you carefully lowered yourself to gently put the shards into color mixed water, you tightly pressed your hand together as if that'll help on reviving spinel back.

as all of the colors started to swirl around your clasped hands, the shards within it started to glow pink. steven tapped your hand to let it go and back away, as if he already done this before.

a bright pink slightly blinded both of you for a mere second, as the light finally died down, you took the first step to see if it worked.

new tears started to fall, you jumped into the tub, not caring if your pants gets wet, you're just relief that she's back then you quickly embraced spinel. but something's not right.
