spinel x d r o w n i n g! reader

" are you gonna come with us, y/n? "

you looked up from your phone and at steven, "huh?" you asked as you didn't really listened to what he said. "swimming, are you gonna come?"

you pursed your lips, turning off your phone and placed it on top of your stomach. "s- sure." you cursed yourself of stuttering, good thing steven didn't pay attention to that.

spinel, who's sitting on top of the counter, she looked at you and has clearly noticed your stuttering. why did you stutter though.

then steven clapped his hands together "well! me, connie and y/n are gonna get our swimming outfits. you guys go on ahead." he said to the gems, you stood up from the couch and slowly walked out of the beach house.

as you're walking on the sand, the sound of the waves clouded your thoughts. looking at the shore, you have to admit, the ocean is beautiful but the thing is.

you can't swim.

sighing, you can just stay by the shore and watch the others get each other wet, you'll probably say that you have your period today. that'll work!!

feeling contented at your small plan, you continued to head to your house to change.

after you finally changed, you quickly headed to the beach where the others already set their blankets and umbrella.

you're wearing (swimming suit of choice) as you reached them. you immediately settled down on the laid blanket. "oh hey y/n!" steven waved over.

you waved back and smiled a little.
spinel is staring at you, she looked at your physique which made her blush. then amethyst wrapped her arm around spinel's neck "hey spinel, whatcha looking at?"

spinel shook her head and looked at the waters "nothing." amethyst rose a brow then she shook at you who's also looking into the horizon, probably daydreaming.

she smirked and patted the pink gem's back, "don't worry, i got you covered." then she started walking towards you. spinel frowned "what do you mean 'got me covered'?"

amethyst went behind you, she placed her index finger on her lips to hush spinel. then she shape shifted into a more buff version of herself and lifted you off the sand.

you yelped and looked over your shoulder to see amethyst with a big grin on her face "wh- what are you doing?" you nervously asked.

"heave-" amethyst brought you back to her side, your eyes widened as you know where this is going. "no no no! wait! i can't-"

"HO!!"
then amethyst tossed you over to the ocean, spinel's followed your flying body with eyes widened and mouth agape.

"amethyst, what did you do?!" pearl screeched, then your body splashed into the water a little farther where steven and the others are.

as you resurfaced, you struggled to keep yourself afloat as your legs waved and sprawled around and you arms flailed around.

spinel immediately got into the water and under, she paddled herself to you,  she grabbed your legs and made you sit on top of her arm.

you panted heavily and coughed out some water, you winced as you can feel water got into your nose. "are you okay?" spinel asked as she adjusted herself to carry you.

you looked down at the pink gem and held onto her shoulder, nodding, "yes, thank you." spinel nodded and swam to the shore.

as the two of you got there, spinel lightly placed you down. "my stars! y/n, you okay?" you nodded, addressing steven's worries and others'. "you don't know how to swim?" connie asked.

you slowly nodded, you looked at the scene that is happening at the background. pearl is screeching at amethyst and garnet smacked the back of her.

you lightly giggled at that, sighing, you leaned back a little and spinel immediately caught your back. "i think i'll rest for a bit." steven nodded, he looked at spinel for reassurance which the pink gem reassured him.

"let's sit under the shade, doll."

"thanks again for saving me." you said as you sighed and leaned against spinel, spinel pursed her lips and a bright blush is evident on her face.

"it's nothin'. i-if you want, i can teach ya to, ya know, swim."
you softly smiled, "that'd be nice."

meanwhile on the side, "see? i told you my plan worked!" amethyst said as she pointed at the two but garnet smacked her again "oof!"
