"Munchies. Munchies. Munchies. Momma got the munchies," Y/N sang quietly to herself as she walked down the aisle of the chips and candies at the drugstore. She placed her hand on her growing belly, "we both know Momma should be eating fruits and veggies, but I'm craving some chips and a little bit of something sweet."

She bent down to look at the candy options on the bottom shelf, singing happily to herself. She heard a familiar deep voice in the next aisle. She couldn't quite place where she heard that voice before until she heard him laugh. She pictured his head rolling back as he placed his hand on his chest laughing hard at something.

Shit, she thought to herself. She mentally cursed herself for not going to the grocery store to get some fruits and veggies instead.

She closed her eyes and wished she wasn't here. She hadn't seen Chris since she broke up with him six months ago. As hard as it was for her, she wanted nothing to do with someone who just wanted her as a sex buddy. She blocked his number because she had to. If she didn't and he called, she would end up back in his bed and not moving forward like she wanted. She wanted that chapter with him to end for good. Unfortunately, life thought differently.

"Y/N?"

Her eyes flew wide open and saw Chris between the small gaps between the shelves. She stood up quickly and looked around a quick second to see which would be the best way to exit.

It was too late when Chris stood up and saw her in front of him. His heart stopped for a second. He never thought he'd see her again. He called her multiple times a day after she broke up with him to fix things. He showed up to her apartment, only to find out from her previous landlord she moved out as her lease was up. He wanted to fight for her, but it was clear she wanted nothing to do with him and that killed him.

"It's so good to see you, Y/N," Chris said, making Y/N turn around to face him. "You look good. How have you been?"

"Umm," she chuckled nervously. "I've been doing great," she lied. Her eyes landed on the girl that was making him laugh just moments ago.

The girl gave Y/N a smirk and said, "hi, I'm Tara, Chris' girlfriend."

Y/N's heart broke. She didn't understand how or why Chris could get a new girlfriend when they had just broken up a few months ago after "being together" for two years. Her mind began to run with a million thoughts.

What's wrong with me?

Why didn't he want me to be his girlfriend?

What does she have that I didn't?

"Y/N?" Chris called out, pulling her out of her thoughts.

She noticed Chris was no longer in front of her. She turned around to see Chris and his new girlfriend had walked around the aisle and were now standing in front of her. They both looked completely shocked as they noticed Y/N was pregnant.

"I'm sorry. I have to go," She gave the candy she had in her hands to Chris and started to walk away.

"Y/N! Wait!" Chris let the candy drop to the floor and chased after her.

Y/N tried her best not to waddle, but failed miserably as she rushed out of the door. Chris let her leave the store, not wanting to cause a scene and have everyone at the store staring. He followed her to her car in the parking lot, but before she could open the door, he grabbed her elbow and turned her around.

"Could you just talk to me? Please?" He begged before he looked down at her pregnant belly.

Y/N's eyes were filled with tears. "We don't have anything to talk about."

"Bullshit," he whispered angrily.

"I don't want to talk about your new girlfriend, Chris! Do you think it's easy for me to see you with someone so quickly after we broke up?" She said, hoping he wouldn't bring up the obvious topic he wanted to talk about.

"She's not my girlfriend-"

"Just forget it, Chris," she pulled her arm away from his hold.

"Before you go, is it mine?" He bluntly asked as he noticed she was ready to leave him without any explanation.

She looked into his eyes and something in her wanted to cause him the same pain he's caused her. "No," she lied.

Chris stumbled back, realizing the real reason she had broken up with him. She was seeing someone else.

"I have to go," Y/N got in the car and drove out of the parking lot, leaving Chris with the wrong impression. Deep down, she regretted not telling him the truth, but she was in too much pain to care. She had to be strong for herself and their unborn child.
