Chris let out a deep breath as he struggled to put on his tie. His tongue peeked out from his lips as he looked at the mirror while focusing on the tie. Thinking he got it right after doing the final loop, the tie came undone. Chris groaned.

Y/N chuckled as she walked up to him. He took a couple of steps back, allowing her to stand in front of him. She smirked at him as she began tying his tie. Chris knew how to tie his own ties, but Y/N took it upon herself to learn by watching YouTube videos shortly after they moved in together. She didn't need to learn how to, but she wanted to for moments like this. Plus, she wanted to pull him in for a kiss every time.

"Are you nervous?" She teased as her fingers worked his tie.

He chuckled nervously. "What gave it away?"

"Oh, I don't know, maybe the fact that Mr. I-wear-a-suit-and-tie-almost-once-maybe-twice-a-week is struggling to put a simple tie together."

"Maybe I'm faking it so I can do this," he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in. He pressed a soft kiss on her cheek before his lips moved along her jaw and down her neck.

"You're such a liar," she giggled as his beard tickled her skin. She patted his chest after finishing with his tie. He pulled away from her and looked into her beautiful eyes. She could see the worry in his eyes. She gave him a soft smile. "Baby, it's okay to admit you're nervous."

"Okay, finneee," he groaned. "I'm allowed to be nervous. Your parents are in town and I finally get to meet them."

"They're gonna love you. Almost as much as I love you," she reassured him.

"Almost?"

"Well, duh. I'll always love you more than anybody in the world," she pulled the tie, bringing him to her lips for a sweet passionate kiss.

Her phone went off. He groaned as she pulled away. She giggled. "I promise. I'll kiss you more later."

She answered hello to her mom. Chris grabbed his wallet and slipped it into the inside pocket of his jacket before walking towards her. He grabbed the small purse she had on their bed along with a red shawl that matched her red strapless dress.

"Yes, we're just leaving our room. We'll be there shortly," Y/N told her mother on the phone as Chris led the way to his car in the garage. "We'll see you in a few minutes."

As they drove to the restaurant, Y/N gave Chris some talking points that would win her parents over. She also expressed the topics that should be off limits, including his favorite, politics. Although Chris enjoys having conversations about today's politics and seeing how different people view things differently, he agreed that politics shouldn't be discussed when meeting her parents for the first time.

Chris blew out a deep breath once he parked the car. Y/N squeezed his hand and leaned in to kiss his cheek. He turned around to look at her deep in her beautiful eyes. His muscles relaxed for a bit, but she could still see the worry and fear in his eyes. She leaned in and kissed him, deeply, reassuring him everything would be fine. If not, she would still love him regardless.

"Okay," he whispered against her lips. "Put your lipstick on and let's go."

She pulled out his favorite shade of red lipstick he loved on her perfect lips and looked into the rear view mirror. Knowing she wouldn't be able to resist kissing him, she learned very quickly into their relationship it was best for her to put her lipstick literally seconds before she had to.

They walked into the restaurant. Chris told the hostess he had a reservation. He called ahead of time to book a private room at the most elegant restaurant in Y/N's hometown. As much as he loves running to the fans, he wasn't in the mood for people taking creepier pictures of him while meeting Y/N's parents for the first time.
