Day 8 of Fic-Mas: Mistletoe Kiss
***

Y/N took the last sip from her cup as she watched people socializing with one another. She felt a bit out of place as she didn't know anyone. Scott was hosting a Christmas party for his coworkers. Although she knew Scott all her life, she didn't know most of his friends. She only knew Chris as he was her best friend for as long as she could remember.

Across the living room, Chris noticed Y/N standing by herself. He was waiting for a refill on his drink from the bartender Scott hired for the party. His eyes lingered down her body. She wore a red halter silky dress that reached just above her knees. The fabric hugged her figure and showed off her curves in all the right places. She was without a doubt the most beautiful girl he's ever seen since high school.

He wondered how it would feel like to wrap his arms around her and pull her close to him. He thought about what her lips would taste like as she always had different flavored chapsticks, and how her lips would fit perfectly against his.

"I'm very surprised after all these years, she still doesn't see how in love you are with her," Scott said, breaking Chris' train of thoughts.

Chris shook his head. "It doesn't matter. She doesn't feel that way about me."

Scott rolled his eyes, knowing he's caught her looking at Chris the same way Chris looks at Y/N. "I'm positive the feelings are mutual."

"If they were, me and her would have happened a long time ago. She doesn't have feelings for me."

"Well, there's only one way to find out." Chris looked at him confused, wondering what exactly Scott was hinting at. Scott pointed at the mistletoe underneath Y/N - who clearly didn't see it as Chris knew she wouldn't want to stand underneath a plant that required kissing a random stranger at a party.

Chris grabbed his beer and took a chug, hoping it'll help his nerves. Scott groaned and took the beer from him. He pulled out a mint from his pocket and gave it to Chris. "You don't want your first kiss to be with beer breath. She deserves better than that."

"Thanks," Chris popped in the mint before padding Scott on the back. He walked across the crowded living room and made his way to his best friend.

"Hey," he smiled as he stood next to her. "You okay? Having a good time?"

She shrugged, "I was fine until my date abandoned me for a beer."

Chris fake gasped, "what a tool."

"I know, right?" She giggled.

"Leaving the most beautiful girl by herself for a lame beer."

She stopped giggling and looked at Chris. She knew they were messing around, but she couldn't tell if he was still joking. A part of her was hoping he wasn't as her heart began to thunder against her chest.

"You know, there's a rule about these things," he started. She looked so confused, unaware of this rule he's talking about. She's gone to plenty of Christmas parties, but she still wasn't quite following. He gave her a small smile and pointed at the mistletoe above them.

She looked up and said, "Oh, that rule."

She looked down and immediately locked eyes with his. His baby blue eyes had softened, yet had a hint of darkness - which she found incredibly sexy. Her heart was thundering against her chest as she noticed his eyes flickered to her red lips. He licked his bottom lip before taking a step closer to her. The noise around her faded as he cupped her cheeks. His thumb brushed against her cheek, looking for a signal for him to stop. She didn't want him to stop. She leaned up on her toes as Chris closed his eyes and kissed her.

Y/N dropped her empty cup and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to him as she moved her lips in perfect sync with his.

"I knewwwwwww ittttttt," Scott sang as he walked by the kissing couple, causing them to pull apart. Chris had a huge smile as Y/N's giggled.

"What do you say we get out of here? This party's boring anyways," Chris said.

"I don't know. The party just started getting interesting," she grabbed him by the tie and pulled him in for another kiss.
