Y/N grabbed her hot tea and sat down in her favorite spot of her Boston apartment, the kitchen nook. She loved looking out when it would snow, curl up with a good book when it rained, and more often than most with a journal and a pen in her hand, writing down lyrics and poems. Sometimes she writes short stories, good memories she had with Andy that were worth writing down and remembering for always.
She looked up at the night sky, wishing she could see the stars bright, but it was impossible when living in the city. Her mind wandered to the other day, when she and Andy held each other tight and cried together in the studio.
They didn't say anything, but the way they held and cried together said everything. After all these years, they were both still in pain, from the breakup and living life without one another. But more importantly, they still loved each other.
Y/N opened her journal and started writing.
I bet this time of night you're still up
I bet you're tired from a long hard week
I bet you're sitting in your chair by the window looking out at the city
And I bet sometimes you wonder about meAnd I just wanna tell you
It takes everything in me not to call you
And I wish I could run to you
And I hope you know that every time I don't
I almost do
I almost doThe next morning, after doing her morning routine, Y/N grabbed her phone and started scrolling through her phone. Catching up on emails, checking on her Facebook, leaving Instagram for last.
She hit the request button at the top of her inbox. She had a million of them, which she's not surprised by. Media outlets, fans, and companies reach out to her on a daily basis. She glanced at them quickly. She wasn't gonna open any and fall into a rabbit hole, responding to everyone, when she had things to do and get done today. But there was one name that stood out.
Jacob Barber.
She saw the tiny thumbnail profile picture. It was Andy's son.
She clicked on it.
11:45PM - I hope that it's okay I'm messaging you - especially since my dad doesn't know, but I'd thought you should know something.
11:46PM - I found a stack of handwritten letters addressed to you from bim. Pretty sure he kept them from you.
11:47PM - Now knowing your history and the truth, I'm not at all surprised about the letters...
11:48PM - But if I remember correctly, that's a felony. I think you should come and get them before I turn him in :)
She wasn't at all scared by his threat. The smile implied he was joking about turning him in, but she wondered how accurate he was about the letters.
What exactly did Andy tell Jacob? Did he tell him about their history? Their entire love story? The good and bad, and not only the good to show Jacob what a good man his father is.There was only one way to find out.
She hit the accept button and responded back to Jacob.
9:36AM - I wouldn't go against your father with the law... he's the best of the best.
She closed the app and texted her assistant. "I'm canceling everything today - all the meetings and today's recording session included. I need a personal day. Work on rescheduling everything and send me an email with the new dates to add on my calendar. Thanks."
