Hoping to cheer Tommy up, Paul asked him to pack a few things for the weekend and get ready to head out. "I won't tell you where we're going but it'll be nice."
Nodding, Tommy closed his book and headed to his room. He was still apprehensive about Paul leaving him. "Um, Paul? Could we just stay here instead?" he asked through the open door.
"What's wrong? Are you sick?" asked Paul coming in. He could tell something was wrong. "Baby, I'm not leaving you. I'm not putting you out or anything like that."
"I---I---okay. I'll be ready in a bit." he sighed finally.
Finally Paul got Tommy in the car and pulled out. The whole time he drove, he talked to Tommy to reassure him. "Look at the ring on your finger when you have doubts."
A small smile lit up Tommy's face soon. "Alright."
Around 3, Paul pulled into a bed and breakfast and parked. "Just so you know up front, I have been here before. A long time ago with Peter. Yes, we were together for awhile. If anyone is still here from that time period that remembers me, you'll know why."
Tommy went to say something but stopped. "I-" "Never mind."
Paul refused to start an argument so he just kept quiet. "Ready? I hope you like it."
"I will."
Going inside, Paul signed in and was given the key. "Room 410. Thanks."
Room 410 was the entire fourth floor. "It's just for us. The whole weekend."
"It's beautiful. I do thank you."
They unpacked after Tommy explored the room and fourth floor. "Did you know there's a hot tub in the bathroom?"
"That's not just a bathroom. That's a swimming pool too." "Go through the far door."
Paul could hear Tommy's cry of surprise from the far end. "See? I told you."
"It's really pretty." "And big."
Hearing the tone the reply was made in, Paul sighed and started wondering what was wrong now. "Baby? Are you about to cry again?"
"No, I'm fine. " "I'll be there in a few."

Later that evening Tommy had convinced Paul to go golfing. He was told it would be a bad idea, but Tommy insisted. "What could possibly go wrong?"
"Don't say I didn't warn you."
An hour later, Tommy got his answer in the form of a golf ball straight to the face. Paul had hit it the wrong way, sending it backwards. "OH MY GOD! I'M SO SORRY!"
Holding his nose to stop the blood, Tommy sank to the golf course and stayed there.
Paul threw the club down and quickly took Tommy in his arms. "Baby, I'm so so sorry!" His eyes filled with tears too. "Did I break your nose?"
The ambulance came shortly to take Tommy to the hospital. Paul followed as quick as he could. When he got there, Tommy was already in x-rays.
The nurse led Paul to the room to wait. He called Gene to tell him. "I hit him with a golf ball! I think I broke his nose!"
"Calm down, you'll be okay." "Tom will forgive you." "Never take me golfing."
The time between x-rays and the time Tommy was brought back, seemed like forever.
When his boyfriend was wheeled in, his entire right side of his face was bandaged. "He's sedated right now. He has a broken nose and a severe black eye. other than those and a swollen jaw, there's no major damage."
Paul stayed in the room until Tommy started to wake up.
