At the house, Paul slammed the car door and headed inside. The reaction he had gotten was unexpected since Tommy usually wore his feelings on his sleeve. The angry rebuff had come as a shock.
Tommy was still sitting in the car wondering if he should have handled the situation better. He finally headed inside to make amends.
Finding Paul in the kitchen he stopped in the doorway and took a deep breath. "Paul, please don't be mad. I'm just not ready to tell anyone what happened yet." He saw the hurt in Paul's eyes as he looked up which made Tommy turn and run to the guest room. Shutting the door, he sat on the bed and stared at the wall.
After a few minutes he stood up and quickly changed after grabbing his sweats.
When Paul calmed down enough to check on Tommy, he was asleep under the quilt. Backing out he called Gene and told him what had happened.
