An hour or so later, Tommy began to how signs of becoming short of breathe again. He stopped walking suddenly and held on to Paul. His cheeks were becoming flushed and he was turning pale. 

"Tom, sit down. I'll go get you a wheelchair." Paul eased him to the nearest bench and helped him sit. "Do not move until I get back. Okay?"

Tommy nodded and waited. He laid down after a few minutes and closed his eyes. He fell asleep in the warmth of the garden. He didn't hear Paul come back in and sit beside him. Paul lifted Tommy's head onto his lap and stroked his hair. 

In his semi-sleep state, Tommy moved his hand to Paul's thigh and began rubbing it. "Mmmm, you feel so good, baby. Don' let Paul find out." he whispered in his sleep. 

Paul immediately shook Tommy awake and pulled him to his feet. "The hell?" he cried. "What do you mean don't let Paul find out! Find out what!?!"

Tommy blinked in confusion as he tried to focus. Finally he realized what he had said.

Hoarsely, Tommy admitted he had been thinking about a past meeting with his ex--before he had gotten with Paul. "I -I-I was crushing on you before I joined the band, I-I-I didn't want you to know because I was scared you'd reject me. I-I-I thought you were with Gene and I didn't want to break you up." "I thought about you when I was with Jaime." He was crying by now.

Paul only half believed Tommy but he took him back to the room and helped him get back in bed. "Do you want to join me in the shower?" "I can show you a few things."

Tommy nodded and turned red. He nodded and hoped his half truth didn't come back to haunt him. He had been thinking about Paul when he was drinking with Jaime in Ireland. What he hadn't told Paul was what had happened after that. He hoped Paul didn't find outor there would be hell to pay.
