Even though Pat tried distracting Tommy for the last two hours of the flight, he could tell it wasn't working well. Tommy kept squeezing his hand tightly. "What if we crash and what if I go into labor with the altitude and..."
"Tommy! Sh." "Everything is going to be fine." Pat pulled him into a hug. "Sh." He rubbed his back until he heard the soft sigh. "See, I told you it's okay."
"I know. I just don't want Paul to see me like this. I look swollen and just plain ugly."
"Look, we can get checked in and then I'll see if I can help you feel better. I think our hotel has a spa so maybe that will help." "Once we arrive in London, we can relax."
"I thought we were going to Prague. Why are we staying in London?"
"Look, we're about three days behind the others. We can skip a couple of cities but tonight we're staying in London. You and I aren't hopping hotels just so you can play catch up." "I want to play tourist." Pat gave Tommy a look that said not to argue.
"I guess that's okay." "Paul's probably busy anyway." he finally said.
The airplane soon landed and everyone began to disembark. Pat held Tommy back so he wouldn't get bumped. "Let's go visit The Tower of London tomorrow. I want to see Anne Boleyn's headless ghost."
"Ew! No!" shrieked Tommy. "Ghosts are real."
Pat bit back a laugh at Tommy's expression. "Okay, chicken boy. You're so going now."
"No!" "I mean you can. I'll find something else to do."
"Aw...I'll keep you safe."
"I hate you. Okay, okay I'll go."
Pat was still laughing as they headed inside the airport. He got flipped off by a pouting Tommy.
