Tommy had wandered around in a daze since he found out he was having twins. He was thrilled about that part, it was not knowing who the father was that was upsetting him. He counted backwards and determined it wasn't the 1st of February when he had gotten wasted in Dublin. It was January 31st.
"Pat! It was February 1st when I woke up in the hotel room after drinking all night. I was with Jaime on January 31st. I know who the father is. " I didn't have sex with Paul until the 1st, so that means ....the father's not him." "Oh my God! He's going to hate me!"
Before any tears could start, Pat replied, "As hard as it's going to be, you'll have to tell him." "Paul loves you." "Make the call before this gets worse."
"Let me take one more blood test first. I have to know." "I scheduled one for today."
Two hours later the two of them were back in the doctor's office. Tommy was scared to death his marriage was going to end. He dreaded making the call.
When the test results came back, Tommy knew his fear had come true. "No! I can't tell him!"
Before Tommy could leave, the doctor made him compose himself.
