Paul pulled himself together and walked into the bedroom. Tommy was propped up on pillows, eyes half closed. "Baby, could I sit down and tell you something?"

"I'm having your baby. I figured it out. I can't tour, I can't do anything." he said flatly.

"You can go on tour, you just can't be on stage for almost three hours every night."

"I don't want you onstage as Starchild. I want you to cover up, go back to wearing clothes that cover you."

"Baby, I showed off just as much then. I love you. I'm not going to cheat."

"I'm not attractive to you now. I'm sick. Bloated." "I feel uglier than I usually do."

"Tom, stop. If it makes you feel better, Eric's six weeks along."

"WHAT! HE DID THIS TO COMPETE WITH ME!"

Paul had to get up and walk away. He honestly hoped he could deal with Tommy's mood swings for eight more months. "Baby, let's go out and spend time together. Are you up for dinner?"

"NO! Go by yourself!"

Paul got up to leave but Tommy bolted out of bed and clung to him. "Wait, please."

"Alright."

Paul let Tommy decide on dinner so he could keep the peace.
