Later that evening a tall, thin, blue-eyed man with blondish brown hair poked his head into the room. "Hi. I'm Patrick, also known as Pat, Tommy's ex band mate. You're Paul, right?" He extended his hand for a shake.
Paul stood up and shook hands, inviting Pat to have a seat. He filled him in on Tommy's condition. "I don't mind you staying at my place when TC gets released, I just prefer the ex not show up."
"I understand. Currently he's in Europe on an extended honeymoon."
The two of them talked until visiting hours were over. Paul then asked Pat if he wanted to follow him to his house so he'd know where to take Tommy later. "Please don't let him fly to Europe to join us. I know he will try, but I don't want him traveling."
"I'll do my best. If I have to, I'll take him to Oregon for awhile. I think he'll listen."
Paul told Pat he'd lend him his keys the night before they headed out so he'd have them.
"I can just get a copy made and you keep the originals."
After agreeing, Pat left and Paul headed upstairs to shower. He tried to relax but couldn't fall asleep until after midnight.
Finally he fell into a restless sleep.
