About an hour later, as the pub announced last call, the two got up to leave. Paul paid and Tommy left a generous tip. The two of them walked out holding hands and stood under the street lights.
Tommy pulled out his phone to take pictures of Paul under the glow. "Hold still, I want to catch the lamplight surrounding you."
Paul obliged, even posing for a few. "Okay, baby, do you have enough?" he asked finally.
"Yes. Thanks."
They headed down the street to their hotel talking about random things along the way. Suddenly, Tommy stopped and tugged on Paul's hand. "Paulie, c'mon over here." He drug Paul to an alley and pushed him against the wall. Leaning in , he kissed him unexpectedly and wrapped his arms around him.
"I really love you." he whispered. "I want to go to therapy and get help so I can work through my issues. I...I....I need to come to terms with what happened to me and....." he trailed off.
Paul let Tommy finish before he guided him to the street once more. "What brought this on?" "Are you okay?" "You've ben quieter about things ever since you got wasted at the bar our first night." "Baby, I'm worried about you."
"Paul, I promise I'm fine. " Tommy replied, his eyes betraying him.
Sighing deeply, Paul just led Tommy back to the hotel. It was about another ten minutes or so until they walked into the lobby.
"Tom, I'm going to grab some ice and I'll be right there. ""Go ahead to the room."
As soon as Tommy was out of sight, Paul called Gene to talk o him. "He's randomly experiencing mood swings. What do I do?"
Gene talked Paul through his anxiety and told him everything would be okay. "Go be his support team."
Paul hung up and headed back to the room.
