That night at dinner Paul poured his soul out to Gene. All his fears, worries, concerns, etc. "I not only think Tommy was abused and assaulted, I think the ex has some kind of hold over Tom. He CANNOT let Jaime go no matter what."
Gene asked Paul to explain what he meant.
Paul told Gene about Ireland in detail. "He stayed for hours at the pub, being given drink after drink. Now mind you, no one knew we were there but you and Eric."
"Do you think Tom told him?"
"I don't know. I thought Tom loves me. He did slip up and tell me he still loves Jaime but then changed it to loved."
"Paul, I think he still is in love with Jaime but he loves you too. Mind you, Eric's the same. Yes, he has an ex he still talks to, and I know this."
"I want him to move on."
"Don't force it or you'll push him away." warned Gene.
Sighing, Paul finished his dinner in silence. "Alright, I'll be patient. Maybe I'll talk him into couples therapy."
Gene offered to take him if he wanted.
"I'll let you know."
After paying, Paul took a walk before heading back to his car and going home.
