Even though Paul had told him he wouldn't leave, doubt still filled Tommy's thoughts. He vowed to not screw up again. Making himself promise not to touch alcohol for awhile, Tommy felt Paul squeeze his hand occasionally. "Baby, relax."
They found a restaurant that looked inviting and went inside. Paul sked for a table for two and squeezed Tommy's hand again. "Tom, do you want appetizers?"
"Sure, with water."
While waiting to order dinner, Tommy's mind kept focusing on his screw up making it hard to concentrate on what Paul was talking to him about. He was brought out of his thoughts when Paul reached under the table and squeezed his thigh.
"Baby, come back down to Earth. I'm not gonna leave. I was trying to ask what you wanted to eat."
"Sorry. I think steak is fine."
Sighing, Paul placed their orders and slid next to Tommy. "Baby, you're so distracted tonight. I'm not sure why you still feel guilty but I'm okay with it."
"I'm not. I'll try to stay focused though." He let Paul's hands roam over him under the table and returned the touching.
In Tommy's ear, Paul whispered, "Can I touch you through your jeans?" "I can put my jacket over your lap."
"Here?" "In public?"
"See, I made you think of something else."
Tommy smacked his arm and replied, "No."
They enjoyed their dinner and took a walk later. Paul found ways to keep Tommy from getting lost in his guilt and thoughts. They arrived back at the hotel around ten. "Now, you can have your way with me, Mr. Stanley." replied Tommy as he closed the door.
