When Paul got home, he carried the triplets inside and took them to their playpen in the living room. After they were settled in, he went back to help Tommy in. Tommy was struggling to get out of Paul's car. His back hurt.

"Give me your hand." Paul helped Tommy to his feet and inside. "Put your feet up."

Paul was going to surprise Tommy later by decorating the house for Christmas. His husband had fallen asleep on the couch holding the sleeping triplets. He covered them all up before dimming the lights and starting the fireplace.

Humming while he worked, Paul soon had the living  room decorated and cookies in the oven. A knock on the door made him jump. Gene was there with extra cookies and eggnog. "I can't order that anymore. I got sick. Octopus doesn't mix well with oysters and ketchup."

"Gross." Paul shut the door as Gene left. "My bestie has some god awful tastes."

Paul put all the cookies in the kitchen and sat down to wrap presents. He hoped Tommy's cheered him up. He had gone all out. Unfortunately, he got tangled in the ribbon and almost tripped.
