I'm Not Too Sure About This

The next morning, Paul woke around 7 to find Tommy still asleep. He slipped out into the hall to call Gene. When Gene finally picked up, he was able to hear Eric too. "Hey, Paulie!" cried the hyper drummer. 

"Eric, get off me for a bit." mumbled Gene. "I'm sore."

Paul made a face as he told Gene what was going on." Tom's back in the hospital. He passed out."

"I wish like hell someone else would." snapped Gene. 

Paul ran through the situation quickly and told them he'd keep them informed.

"Bye, Romeo." he laughed. "Go knock Juliet out  for awhile."

Going back to the room, Paul ordered room service so he could eat and go home to shower and change. He left Tommy a note.

Back at the house, Paul took a long shower and changed before calling Bruce and Pat. "Could you two come by so we can talk?"

They agreed and Paul hung up. He did not want Tommy flying at all but knew his husband would insist on going.

When Bruce and Pat showed up, he told them what had happened. "I know he'll insist on going. I don't want him flying though."

Bruce suggested that Tommy be talked in to joining them later. "By then he should be able to."

"I can't get him to understand he needs to stay home period. He is convinced that I will cheat and break his heart."

Pat suggested that he take Tommy to Cannon Beach before the others flew out.

Paul sighed, knowing Tom also had feelings for Pat and that the ex still hung out up that way.

"I'll figure something out."

The three of them finally hit on the idea that Tommy and Pat take the train to New York and fly from there. It would cut the flying time down considerably and Tommy wouldn't have to suffer from air sickness either.

"He can sleep on the train too." "He needs all the rest he can get." said Pat. "I'll tell him." 

Paul felt a little better so he asked Bruce if he would be willing to fly out a day earlier. "I'll get Romeo and Juliet informed and we'll leave tomorrow."

Pat hoped that fact alone wouldn't led to a full blown meltdown.
