Since Tommy's therapy session was awkward, he wanted nothing more than to just leave the hospital. He hurried out the door only to be stopped by Paul. "Baby, what happened?"
"JUST GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME HERE!!!!" "I HATE MYSELF!!!" screamed Tommy as he tried to get free of Paul's grip.
Paul gently led him to a chair and sat him down. Bending down, he lifted Tommy's chin. "Baby? Talk to me." "Did something happen?" Paul couldn't get anything more out of Tommy so he just held him close.
"Sh. It's okay, it's okay."
After a few minutes of hard sobbing, the tears began to let up. "C-c-could we j-j-just go?" came the hoarse whispered question. "I-I-I just wanna go."
"We still have to get your discharge papers ready. If you need to collect yourself we'll wait."
Tommy looked up with red eyes and nodded. "Sorry." he mumbled. "I just wanna go home."
Paul stroked Tommy's cheek gently. "It's going to be okay. I promise." "Do you feel like you can talk to me?"
"M-m-maybe later." Tommy promised softly. "N-n-not here though." "When we get home, to our house, could we go back to the bed and breakfast and just talk?"
"Sure, baby. If that's what makes you feel most comfortable. I just want you to heal completely, both physically and mentally."
Paul kissed Tommy gently before pulling him to his feet. "Come on, let's go get you ready for discharge."
Tommy stood up and put his arm around Paul's waist. "I'm ready." "I love you."
"I love you too. "
Paul led Tommy back to the room to get ready to go home. "You shower and I'll start packing for you." He kissed Tommy once again and closed the bathroom door for him.
While Tommy showered, Paul packed his bag for him. What he found on the pillow shocked him.
