Wednesday found Tommy eagerly awaiting his therapy session. He had made it clear he was doing it alone.
Managing to walk to the end of the hall, he caught his breath and started down the stairs to the third floor. The nurse at the doorway helped him into a wheelchair and rolled it to the elevator. "You walked almost 1/2 a mile just now. that's good."
Tommy pushed the button to the 2nd floor and waited for the doors to open. He rolled into he therapy office and let the receptionist know he was there.
"Well, I see you're here by yourself today."
"I am. I can't start healing unless I try. I don't really like talking about my feelings but I'm going to try."
"That's a great start. Come on in and I'll let Sarah know you're here."
After Tommy was shown in, he stopped the wheelchair near the couch and slid out of it. He immediately turned red as Sarah came around the desk.
They had a two hour session before time was up. "Could I come by on Friday?" asked Tommy eagerly.
"I'm not in my office on Fridays. How about tomorrow at nine?"
Tommy agreed and got back in the wheelchair. He blurted out without thinking, "I think you're so pretty. I want to take you to dinner when I get out."
"As flattered as I am, I'm declining. I'm happily married."
Tommy felt stupid as he rolled out towards the elevators. "Oh my God! " he mumbled. "You are soooo stupid Thomas!"
He didn't tell Paul or Pat what he had done.
