Trying to Make the Appointment

After sleeping the most of the next day, Tommy and Paul were in the kitchen trying to figure out the best therapy places. "Do you want to stay there or do you want outpatient?" "If you choose to stay, you may not  be allowed visitors or your phone or anything. It can be rough that way. You may also have to agree to bare your soul, which you feel very uncomfortable doing." "Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to talk you out of it, I'm just speaking from experience."

Tommy already knew he wouldn't be comfortable talking to strangers so he started rethinking his decision. "I-I-I w-w-want to move forward, but I-I-I can't tell people what happened! I-I-I can't even tell you!" he sobbed. "I-I-If I do outpatient you can go with me but then you'll have to know and I can't lose you!" "You wouldn't want me if you knew the truth." He spilled his coffee as he tried not to cry. He was unsuccessful as he crumbled to the floor, coffee going everywhere.

By now, Tommy was a hysterical crying mess on the floor, coffee all over the table and himself. Paul had no idea if he should call Gene or Eric or an ambulance. He quickly called Gene, put the phone on speaker so both Eric and Gene could hear him while he tried calming Tommy down.

"We'll be over in five or less." came Eric's reply.

Paul clicked off the phone as he got the coffee cleaned up. "Tom, stand up. Come on so I can get you cleaned up."

"I got him Paul." replied Gene as he hurried inside. Scooping Tommy up, Gene carried him to the guestroom. Eric silently helped Paul finish cleaning up before hugging the lead singer who was also now in tears.  "Come on, let's go sit down on the couch."

Eric sat with his arms around Paul until Gene came back in. "I gave Tom a sleeping pill. Do you need one?" Sitting down, he rubbed Paul's back to calm him. "We're both here if you need us."

Paul told the two all about the last few days and ended with, "I don't know what triggered the break down but I want him to get help."

Eric suggested calling Bruce to see if he could help Tommy. "We may need him to tour with us temporarily." 

Paul said he'd think about it after he took a shower. Seeing Gene and Eric out, he closed the door and sighed.
