Tommy's First Day of Hospitalization

After Tommy fell asleep, Paul was  left with tons of questions. 1) What possessed Tommy to not mention he was still sick. (2) What was he talking about? (3) Had he actually gone off on the night at the pub and done something? (4) Where did they go from here?

Deciding to leave for  a bit, Paul stepped out in the hallway, meeting Eric carrying a stack of papers. "Paul, you might want to come down to the waiting room with me and Gene. Bruce is there too. We have a few things to discuss."

Paul immediately started to worry. "What is it? Is something wrong? What's going on?"

"You'll find out in a few minutes. " was all Eric said.

In the waiting room, Gene silently handed Paul an envelope. "The ex wants Tom to be his best man. The wedding is tomorrow. He's actually insisting on it."

"What? He's in the hospital!" "Didn't anyone tell him?"

Bruce nodded and said, "I did. I think he's okay with it, but who knows."

Paul shook his head as he handed the envelope back to Gene. "Get rid of it and DO NOT ever let Tommy know."

"I can shred it. " 

"Do it."

After the wedding matter was taken care of, the talk turned to Tommy's health issues. "I'm a bit upset he didn't tell anyone. He could have landed in ICU!" "If he would have told me, we would have stayed home!"

Bruce replied, "That's why he didn't let anyone know." "Think about it Paul. If you had known, would you have let him go to Ireland?"

"Well of course not. But now he can't start the tour because he's sick."

Gene responded, "It was a stupid move, yes. We now have to either postpone or cancel." "I mean sure Bruce can fill in for awhile but what do we tell our fans?"

"The truth. " said Eric. "We just hold a press conference and tell the truth. Tommy's sick and can't tour for awhile."

The four of them discussed the best way to handle the situation.
